The occult nature of weaponized hypocrisy |

Matthew 7:2
For by whatever verdict you pass judgment you shall be judged, and in whatever measure you measure it shall be meted out to you.
What do you think of this verse? Does is describe an actual "supernatural" force that is active in the world? Or is it just aspirational advice?
If this effect is divinely or metaphysically enforced, could it be weaponized? I am thinking about how there are so many targets of hate presented by the media, invitations to judge that are given us. What if, by judging based on incomplete evidence or emotion, we are actually giving some sort of spiritual power to those who would rule over us in this world, because our judgment must, by necessity, rebound? Perhaps hypocrisy is being "farmed". Unfairly judge others for their oppression, and end up being oppressed ourselves. Does God see that as being "only fair"?
There is also the view of jumping to judgment as growing a Hegelian dialectic on unprovable ground, introducing an irresolvable chain of possible contradiction that serves only to muddy the waters, and make effective public discourse impossible. So perhaps it's not worth mentioning at all?

Skip to 4:20 to miss the advertisement. I have never heard of project Redsun...
The full title is: "Project Redsun: NASA's Secret Manned Missions to Mars."
Quote:Project Redsun: NASA's Secret Manned Missions to Mars In 1973, while the world watched the Apollo missions end, something extraordinary happened in the Amazon jungle. A rocket carried humanity's most advanced spacecraft toward Mars, crewed by familiar names: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Ilyushin. Project Redsun united Cold War enemies to pursue a singular goal - establishing a human presence on Mars. The mission succeeded, but the crew discovered something that changed everything. Decades later, whistleblowers emerged with photographs, documents, and footage that paint an astonishing picture of space exploration's hidden history.

F-35B crash pilot error, pilot fired from command of VMX-1 |

The F-35B that went "missing" over South Carolina last year has been ruled pilot error. The pilot, Col Charles "Tre" Del Pizzo was appointed the head of Marine Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 (VMX-1) and claims he was fired as a result of the findings, despite the report being released months before he took command. He was attempting to land at Joint Base Charleston in bad weather when his primary radio and flight displays went out. His stand by flight instruments were working normally, and his back up radio was at least partially functioning. The decision to eject was inappropriate because control inputs were still in progress. Weather complicated the situation, because the primary radio, transponder, tactical navigation system, and ILS failed during an electrical event.
On approach to Charleston he ordered his wingman to transition to STOVL mode for a slow landing. That was the last thing his wingman heard from him. During the approach his helmet started to flicker in and out, and his panoramic display went out. He carried out a missed approach, but felt that the aircraft was not transitioning back to conventional mode. After he lost his helmet display for the third time, he wasn't sure what instruments he could trust, and felt the aircraft was out of control. The F-35B flight manual says that the aircraft is considered out of control if it's not responding properly to inputs, and if it's below 6,000 feet the pilot should eject. The report cited that the definition of out of control is too broad and played a role in the accident. His decision to eject was ultimately rule inappropriate because the aircraft was responding to inputs, the backup flight instruments were working, and the back up radio was partially functional.
In June of this year, Col Del Pizzo was appointed command of Marine Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 (VMX-1) at Yuma, despite the report being completed in January. He was removed from command for loss of trust and confidence in his ability to execute the responsibilities of his command. He was chosen for command in August of 2022.

From Tribes to Superpowers: The Evolution of Human Societies Toward Global Dominance |

I am cross posting this to ATS as well. Mods, please move if this is not the correct forum.
Just looking for feedback to an idea I've been working on lately.
Evolutionary and Sociobiological Roots - Survival in Numbers: Early human societies were small, often organized in tribes or clans. As humans faced resource scarcity, external threats, and the need to compete with other groups, coming together offered a survival advantage. Grouping allowed humans to pool resources, defend territories more effectively, and leverage collective knowledge and skills.
- In-group Loyalty and Out-group Hostility: Evolutionary psychology suggests that humans are predisposed to develop strong loyalty within groups and sometimes antagonism toward outsiders. These tendencies likely served as survival mechanisms, strengthening bonds within the group and enhancing their ability to fend off external threats.
2. Agricultural Revolution and Population Growth- Resource Control and Land Expansion: With the advent of agriculture (around 10,000 years ago), humans could produce food surplus, enabling larger, more permanent settlements. As these agricultural communities grew, they began to consolidate power, forming city-states and early civilizations. Controlling land and resources became essential, which led to conflicts over territory and the gradual absorption or conquest of smaller communities by larger, more powerful entities.
- Rise of Social Hierarchies: Agriculture led to wealth accumulation and the establishment of social hierarchies, with elites (often religious or warrior classes) emerging to organize and protect resources. This stratification increased the power of certain individuals or classes to unify groups and organize them under a single rule, incentivizing expansion and competition with neighboring territories.
3. Empire-Building and Conquest- Domination as a Strategy for Stability: As states expanded, they often sought to conquer neighbors to create stable boundaries and reduce the risk of external threats. The result was the creation of empires, like those of the Egyptians, Persians, Romans, and later European colonial empires. These empires used their military power to absorb smaller groups, coalescing them into vast territories under central control.
- Cultural and Religious Assimilation: Empires not only expanded through military conquest but also through cultural integration. Many empires spread their languages, religions, and customs to create a sense of shared identity or loyalty, making it easier to maintain control over diverse populations. This process is known as imperial assimilation, a powerful force in expanding and consolidating empires.
4. Colonialism and the Modern Nation-State- Colonial Exploitation and Global Reach: The Age of Exploration and subsequent colonialism saw European powers expanding globally, consolidating power and wealth at an unprecedented scale. The colonial model coalesced resources from around the world, leading to larger, more powerful states with global influence.
- Emergence of the Nation-State: As colonial empires dissolved, the nation-state emerged as the dominant political structure. Nation-states often represent large territories unified under a central government, with shared national identity and citizenship. Many modern countries are, in fact, amalgamations of smaller communities, often with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds brought together under the banner of a single national identity.
5. Geopolitical Competition and the Pursuit of Global Dominance- Power Concentration and Global Politics: In the 20th and 21st centuries, global politics has largely centered on competition among a few large political units (such as the United States, China, the European Union, and formerly the Soviet Union). These units, each with vast economic and military power, influence global structures and often compete for dominance in economic, military, technological, and ideological spheres.
- Economic Globalization and Neo-Imperialism: Globalization has created economic interdependence among nations, but it also reinforces the power of a few dominant economies. Some analysts argue that economic globalization has led to a new form of "neo-imperialism," where large economic powers exert control over smaller nations through trade, debt, and corporate influence rather than direct military control.
6. The Drive for Global Hegemony- Unipolar vs. Multipolar World Orders: The competition for dominance has led to different visions of a global order, from the unipolar hegemony of a single superpower to a multipolar world where power is distributed among several key players. This struggle is playing out through various channels, including international institutions, economic policies, technological standards, and military alliances.
- Soft Power and Ideological Influence: In addition to economic and military dominance, modern powers use soft power—such as cultural influence, diplomatic initiatives, and international aid—to expand their influence globally. This strategy aims to shape global values and norms, consolidating the power of these entities without direct confrontation.
7. Future Implications: Towards a Unified or Fragmented World?- Global Governance Challenges: The world faces shared challenges, such as climate change, cybersecurity, and pandemics, that may drive nations toward more cooperation or a unified global governance system. However, ideological, cultural, and economic divisions persist, creating friction between globalism and nationalism.
- Technology and Surveillance: Technological advancements in surveillance, artificial intelligence, and social media provide unprecedented tools for centralizing control. This raises questions about whether large political entities will become even more powerful or whether technology will enable smaller, decentralized groups to assert greater autonomy.
- Potential for Decentralization: Some argue that future political structures might evolve toward decentralization, where smaller, more autonomous communities form networks rather than consolidate under single, large governing bodies. This could be driven by technology (like blockchain), environmental factors, or shifts in public sentiment against centralization.
Summary
The pattern of smaller groups forming larger units to achieve security, economic stability, and social cohesion is deeply embedded in human history. The drive for dominance, whether military, cultural, or economic, has historically pushed smaller entities to merge into larger, more powerful structures. Today, the world stands at a crossroads between continued consolidation into powerful blocs and a potential rethinking of power distribution, possibly toward a more decentralized, networked world.
The outcome of this tension will likely shape the next chapter of human civilizationEvolutionary and Sociobiological Roots- Survival in Numbers: Early human societies were small, often organized in tribes or clans. The essence of leftist ideas in America |

Hi DI!
Russian relocates who come to America try to adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible. And they become holier than the Pope in leftist satanic tendencies. Here is a small typical story, a very small one, of Russian relocates in the USA.
Quote:"At the end of November, he heard about non-binary and one day decided that now he is they (hereinafter this pronoun will be used), and took the non-binary form of his name. In December, they changed their name."
If you look into it, this sad story contains the very essence of leftism. An activist encounters a clear manifestation of the disease - her friend has gone crazy, he calls himself with the pronoun "they". However, instead of helping the unfortunate man recover, she romanticizes his illness, encourages problematic behavior and even "protects" him from those who react to the illness adequately.
The Leninist communists we are used to acted in a similar way. A peasant has problems - he drinks, he's lazy, he runs his farm poorly. A healthy reaction is to help the poor guy get rid of poverty: offer to stop drinking, start working normally, buy modern equipment, subscribe to an agronomic journal. Communists, however, romanticize the disease: they claim that being poor is good and noble, and the rich are thieves and speculators who "parasitize" the poor slacker.
The same problem is with blacks in American ghettos. Their main disease is a criminal culture that dictates contempt for study, work and normal family life. And American leftists ... romanticize this disease (see George Floyd).
The same problem is with American fatties. Obesity is a disease that needs to be treated by psychologists, nutritionists and other specialized specialists. However, leftists also romanticize fat people, inventing "fat shaming", "body positivity" and other ways to crown a sick person with a beauty contest winner's crown.
It is easy to see that healthy conservatism is better not only for society as a whole, but also for those whom leftists call "oppressed". Let's take an abstract example that leftists have not yet gotten to - tooth decay.
The leftist approach: "all decent people have tooth decay", "tooth decay is power", "dentists are robbing us", "tooth decay shaming", "there should be at least three characters with tooth decay in this film". Victims of leftist propaganda walk around with bad teeth, bring things to pulpitis and periodontitis, and proudly dance at toothless parades.
The conservative approach: "You're sick, man, go to the dentist. What? Caries-shaming? Go see a psychiatrist, he's on the second floor in the same clinic."
You can consider me an enemy of freedom and progress, but if I get sick, I'll definitely prefer the second option.
In reality, leftism leads to the fact that the ideal person (I use a tolerant term) should be of an indeterminate race, of an indeterminate gender, live under a bridge, be super overweight, receive state benefits, do nothing, have no family and children (who would connect their life with him?), suffer wildly from tooth decay, cirrhosis of the liver, think that everyone around him owes him something, hate Russia, conservatism (calling it fascism) and Christianity, bark or meow, consider himself a quad bike, a tree or a Ferris wheel, and those who still have some money, become robocops.)))))
This is the real future for the West, unless people return to their roots.
Thank you.

I can see your aura and mine too,
Today I am bright pink with light, I am Loving, tender, sensitive, sensual, artistic, affection, purity, compassion, new or revieved romantic relationship. I can indicate clairaudience.
Some days we all shine in many colors,
The good old red orange days are filled with confidence , creative power in a bright and pure state, red energy can serve as a healthy ego.
The love of my life is filled with purple,
Purple is the intuitive color in the aura, and reveals psychic power of attunement with self.Intuitive, visionary, futuristic, idealistic, artistic, magical. She rocks my world.
Some days I see her yellow aura but she does not like yellow,
Yellow is the color of awakening, inspiration, intelligence and action shared, creative, playful, optimistic, easy-going.
We see colors from the 5th world of life that I can't explain.

Egypt releases EgyptAir 804 report after 8 years |

The Egyptian government has released the accident report in the crash of EgyptAir flight 804, an Airbus A320-232 that was flying from Charles de Gaul in Paris to Cairo on 19 May 2016. The flight had just passed from Greek control to Egyptian control when contact was lost. The aircraft crashed into the Mediterranean killing everyone on board (59 passengers and 7 crew). The aircraft was registered SU-GCC, and first flew on March 11, 2003. It had 48,052 hours and 20, 773 cycles at the time of the accident. Its last C check was completed on June 25, 2015, and the last A check was completed on March 28, 2016.
During the accident flight, the aircraft sent the following ACARS messages:
SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE
ANTI ICE R WINDOW
R SLIDING WINDOW SENSOR/IDWHC 2 (these messages were sent simultaneously)
One second later, ACARS sent:
AVIONICS SMOKE
Followed a second later by :
R FIXED WINDOW SENSOR/IDWHC 2
Followed immediately by:
AUTO FLT FCU 2 FAULT
F/CTL SEC 3 FAULT
At 2348:14 the Greek ATC cleared them to contact sector AC5, on frequency 124.7. There was no response from the crew. According to radar data, they were 14.8 nautical miles north of KUMBI, which is between Crete and Cyprus. At 0028:22 the AC5 controller asked HECC ATC if they had any contact with the flight. From 0028:48 to 0140:25 AC5 controllers asked multiple flights to try to contact MSR804, and they tried to contact them on 121.5 with no result. At 0029:57, per radar replay data, contact was lost with MSR804. AC5 controllers contacted MAMBO, a unit of the Hellenic Air Force, and asked if they had any radar contact at the last known location of MSR804, receiving a negative contact report from them. Air Ground Service was asked to send a SELCAL message to the flight asking them to contact ATC on 121.5 at 0034:42. At 0118:49, SAR operations launched, with a C-130 as HRK69A being the primary aircraft launched.
Just before 0130, ATC contacted MSR780, which was on a similar track and asked them to watch out for anything out of the ordinary. They reported seeing a light 10nm behind them.
The two data recorders were found on June 16 and 17, and were immediately returned to Egypt, who began work on them on June 18. Both data recorders had damage consistent with a high speed impact. A Honeywell Golden Chassis was used to attempt to download both recorders. The first attempt was declared a failure, and another attempt was made with a Honeywell Hand Held Download Unit, that resulted in the Golden Chassis being declared fully functional, but further attempts to download the unit failed. The recorder was examined, and multiple failures of pins of one of the chips was found. The FDR was sent to France, for the BEA to attempt a repair to the chip, and download the memory unit. They were able to successfully download the data, and recovered three and a half hours of data. The final 23 seconds is considered invalid data.
This is where the controversy starts. In November it was reported that human remains that were recovered had evidence of explosive traces on them. Multiple pieces of wreckage from the cabin were found with thermal damage evidence. There was no sound of an explosion on the FDR, and the first evidence of something wrong was the first officer saying "Fire fire" at 0025:30 UTC, followed immediately by a flight attendant that was in the cockpit and the Captain both saying fire, and asking for a fire extinguisher. At 0026:14, the FDR recorded a warning for lavatory smoke, followed quickly by avionics and cargo smoke warnings. Visual inspection of human remains showed evidence of fire traces, with solid particles embedded in the skin. Thermal effects were found on pieces of skin near the first officer seat, the right hand passenger door, and catering cart from the forward galley. A hissing sound consistent with high pressure oxygen was heard on the FDR as well.
The investigators claim that traces of DNT and TNT were found on passenger remains, with some being in the aft portion of the cabin, and a bomb was detonated in the galley just behind the cockpit. But the CVR doesn't show any indication of an explosion or blast. Supposedly the first officer had turned to talk to the flight attendant that entered the cockpit and saw fire on the antihijacking camera located just outside the cockpit. The hissing sound was heard on the CVR, starting at 0025:24 and lasted three minutes, which is the approximate capacity of the high pressure oxygen bottle for the crew. The report says there were no indications of anything abnormal with the crew or aircraft before the first hissing sound, but claims the oxygen leak was caused by the bomb breaking the oxygen line in the cockpit. The First Officer oxygen box was replaced two days before the accident flight. In the report in the CVR transcript, there's a hissing sound, followed by a pop sound, then a hissing sound again. But according to investigators, the oxygen leak came AFTER the supposed explosive device went off.
The traces of TNT were supposedly found on the Captain's seat in the cockpit, and in the very last row of seats in the cabin, but the aircraft flew on for 13 1/2 minutes after the first hissing sound was heard, and just over 9 minutes after the FDR failed and stopped recording.

So yesterday I was in the local general store/pot office/ liquor store grabbing my mail when I was asked by an indigenous fellow if I was going into (the closest bigger town), I was and he asked if he could pay me $40 for a ride there. I told him that I was going already and he didn’t have to pay me.
He insisted, so I stuffed it in my pocket and away we went. I asked before he got in if he had allergies, because my girl was in the truck and she sheds year round. Nope, so away we went.
Of course we got to talking and he was saying how he got stuck in this particular situation etc. unfuckingbelievable how he just saw it as a minor inconvenience. I would have been livid and wanted to kick the person’s ass who had left him in that predicament.
I digress… jeez thanks Maxmars…
Anyway, we got into the racism discussion. He said that (as I believe) we are all the same race. There is no such thing, but there is prejudice. We spoke about beliefs, commonalities among cultures and respect.
Then we talked about prejudice. The fear of others because of skin colour and what you have heard about them.
I’m very open minded and love a good conversation, and we really had one!
I know that I am very prejudiced, due to certain situations, but I am not racist.

In popular American culture? If you are American, that is.
I was wondering this because I was reading this Business Insider article from back in 2020:
Quote:In the clip, Moradi says:
"In your opinion, if anyone around the world wants to take their revenge on the assassination of Soleimani and intends to do it proportionately in the way they suggest — that we take one of theirs now that they've got one of ours — who should we consider to take out in the context of America?
"Think about it. Are we supposed to take out Spider-Man and SpongeBob? They don't have any heroes. We have a country in front of us with a large population and a large landmass, but it doesn't have any heroes. All of their heroes are cartoon characters — they're all fictional."
And thought, "dang, he's got a point", because I couldn't think of any. Maybe Sad Keanu Reeves? He seems like a good soul. But that is just a Hollywood person!
How about you?

Oriental Hornets can't ever get drunk |

Apparently, researchers have discovered that no matter how much alcohol Oriental Hornets drink, they never get drunk - at all.
From ArsTechnica: These hornets break down alcohol so fast that they can’t get drunk
Subtitled: "No signs of intoxication or illness, even after chronically consuming huge amounts of alcohol."
Many animals, including humans, have developed a taste for alcohol in some form, but excessive consumption often leads to adverse health effects. One exception is the Oriental hornet. According to a new paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, these hornets can guzzle seemingly unlimited amounts of ethanol regularly and at very high concentrations with no ill effects—not even intoxication. They pretty much drank honeybees used in the same experiments under the table.
“To the best of our knowledge, Oriental hornets are the only animal in nature adapted to consuming alcohol as a metabolic fuel," said co-author Eran Levin of Tel Aviv University. "They show no signs of intoxication or illness, even after chronically consuming huge amounts of alcohol, and they eliminate it from their bodies very quickly."
Per Levin et al., there's a "drunken monkey" theory that predicts that certain animals well-adapted to low concentrations of ethanol in their diets nonetheless have adverse reactions at higher concentrations. Studies have shown that tree shrews, for example, can handle concentrations of up to 3.8 percent, but in laboratory conditions, when they consumed ethanol in concentrations of 10 percent or higher, they were prone to liver damage.
Similarly, fruit flies are fine with concentrations up to 4 percent but have increased mortality rates above that range. They're certainly capable of drinking more: fruit flies can imbibe half their body volume in 15 percent (30 proof) alcohol each day. Not even spiking the ethanol with bitter quinine slows them down. Granted, they have ultra-fast metabolisms—the better to burn off the booze—but they can still become falling-down drunk. And fruit flies vary in their tolerance for alcohol depending on their genetic makeup—that is, how quickly their bodies adapt to the ethanol, requiring them to inhale more and more of it to achieve the same physical effects, much like humans.

Hello all,
Forgive me if this has already been posted. I did do a quick search and didn't see any topics with any relevance to Oak Island.
So here we are approaching Season 12 of Oak Island. I've been following since season 1 episode 1. I understand that "the History channel" makes money by viewership and dragging along viewers. So don't me wrong. I understand a lot of hype and mystery is most likely exaugurated for views. But as a whole, there has been many unexplained finds on the island. Whether it be Spanish coins, Roman coins. Lead dating back to Europe from 1200AD. Or timbers carbon dated back hundreds of years before the expected arrival of Europeans to the area.
What are your thoughts? Are there others here that have been following the series? I'd love to hear others perspectives of what it may have been. I personally am leaning towards a repair island. Since the discovery of the pine tar kilns and man made harbor. It would only make sense that it was used a temporary repair hub for those traveling to and from Europe.
I can get much more in depth but before I do, Id love to hear from others!
Regards,

With the approach of Halloween, I found this calling out to me...
From ArsTechnica: A candy engineer explains the science behind the Snickers bar
Subtitled: How the airy nougat and chewy caramel is built.
Let’s look at the elements of a Snickers bar as an example of candy science. As with almost everything, once you get into it, each component is more complex than you might think.
This is a worth while read if, like me, you enjoy a Snickers bar once in a while, and ponder on how its built.

Russia fines Google...
Quote:Russia has fined Google $2,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, or more money than actually exists on Earth, all because it's upset about some YouTube channels. What's the most shocking bill you've ever got in the post? Personally, I'm still financially recovering from winter 2022, when a dalliance with an electric heater landed a fat £300 invoice on my doorstep. I write about videogames and subsist on coal soup, and there was Octopus Energy sending me a bill it presumably intended for Jeff Bezos.
Could be worse, though. I could be the guy at Google who had to open its $2.5 decillion fine from the Russian government (via The Moscow Times). Yes, that's decillion, which is a one followed by 33 zeroes. That means Russia wants Google to pay it $2,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. The number in rubles is even more absurd: ₽2 undecillion, or two followed by 36 zeroes.
For reference, the World Bank estimates the sum total of world GDP last year at $105,000,000,000,000—or one hundred and five trillion dollars. In 2017 (a while back, but not so far back that the numbers will be radically different today), MarketWatch generously valued the sum total of anything you could conceivably call 'money on Earth'—including cryptocurrencies, above-ground gold supply, and funds invested in financial products—at several quadrillions.
You may wonder how Google came to owe this ungodly sum to the Russian state. Per RBC it's because, erm, YouTube blocked some Russian channels. In 2020, pro-Kremlin media channels Tsargrad and RIA FAN (part of the Patriot Media Group formerly headed by Yevgeny Prigozhin, a stalwart Putin ally before he attempted to launch a coup last year and subsequently exploded in mid-air) won lawsuits against Google after the latter blocked their YouTube channels. The punishment? Daily penalties of ₽100,000, which doubled each week.
This is obviously a very sad and childish attempt by the Kremlin and Russian courts to 'attack' a western company for removing it's propaganda channels on Youtube, and I see no way Google even acknowledging this laughable fine. Do the members here think this will have any impact on Google and it's future. Once Putin is removed, do you think this will effect Googles future return to Russia?

Suggestions for chat |

The "chat" function at the top of the page is nice, but it seems to be more of a simulation of ships passing in the night, rather than something useful. A few suggestions:
The banner at the top of the page:
...should have a little red "0" by "Chat", if no one is in there, or a "1" or "2" or whatever, if someone is. This will make it easy to see, and go "Oh look there's someone in chat who needs Ignorance Denied, off to the rescue!" As it is now, some people just occasionally click chat to see if anyone is there, and then leave, and all you see when you go there is whether you missed anyone or not.
Second, perhaps if one of the moderators is interested, DI could schedule regular chats at a semi-regular time, like MWF 8pmEST or something, and put one of those snazzy red banners at the top of the thread lists, etc, saying, like, "Group Chat And Speedo Party Click Chat Now!". That would sure get a lot of people in there, and may be fun.
Okay that was just a few suggestions or ideas for other people to chime in, take of it what you will.
Also while I am posting the board questions forum, I want to point out that the little red "Subscribe" button at the bottom of the thread, while it works to susbscribe to a thread, if you're already subscribed to a thread, clicking it unsubscribes you. I think that's what it's supposed to do, but the label at that point should read "Unsubscribe" rather than "Subscribe".

Remember "Oregon Trail?" It's gonna be a movie. |

I was wondering if this belongs in the video game forum...
Oregon Trails was an iconic and very popular example of "educational" software... which seemed unabashedly fixated on how many ways there were to 'fail' at moving to the great western beyond during the expansion of the United States...
Many young people learned of things like "dysentery" and "typhoid"... something almost unheard of to them.
From ArsTechnica: Apple is turning The Oregon Trail into a movie
Subtitled: The film will be a comedy, not a serious historical drama.
Apple will adapt the classic educational game The Oregon Trail into a big-budget movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR).
The film is in early development, having just been pitched to Apple and approved. Will Speck and Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory, Office Christmas Party) will direct and produce. Given that pedigree (zany comedies), it's clear this film won't be a serious historical drama about the struggles of those who traveled the American West.
In fact, the report not only notes that it will be a comedy—it says it will be a musical, too. "The movie will feature a couple of original musical numbers in the vein of Barbie," according to THR's sources. EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will be responsible for the original music in the film.
As a non-subscriber, I hope some member will return here and tell me if I missed something good.

Yesterday comet C/2024 S1 (ATLAS) plunged into the Sun. Here's is a video:
Quote:Comet C/2024 S1 (ATLAS) is no more.
On Monday (Oct. 28), the comet evaporated as it was heading toward perihelion, the closest point to the sun in its orbit. There were earlier hopes that the comet, officially designated C/2024 S1 (ATLAS), could become a "Halloween treat" visible to the naked eye, but these were ultimately just wishful thinking; astronomers had already begun observing the cosmic snowball beginning to disintegrate earlier this month.

Hello DI!
An article was published in the liberal Russian publication "Gazeta.ru" "Russian military practiced delivering a massive nuclear strike", which says...
Quote:" Defense Minister Andrei Belousov reported to President Vladimir Putin that during the training, the military practiced delivering a massive nuclear strike. This follows from a video published by the press service of the Defense Ministry.
"Under your leadership, training is being conducted to control the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the head of the department noted.
Belousov drew attention to the fact that they are practicing delivering a strike with strategic nuclear forces in response to a nuclear strike by an enemy.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the military personnel completed all assigned tasks in full, all missiles reached their targets.
The department noted that as part of the training, Sineva and Bulava missiles were launched, as well as a Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched. Long-range aircraft Tu-95MS took part in the maneuvers.
On October 23, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that Russian specialists, when creating new weapons, take into account the identified vulnerabilities of captured equipment from NATO member countries.
Earlier, Putin explained that this is an extreme measure to ensure security for the Russian Federation."
Yes, of course, no one wants this. But is Russia ready to use nuclear weapons against countries that will commit aggression against Russia with their weapons, according to the new nuclear concept of Russia, which was voiced by Putin and adopted by the Russian parliament? Tensions are growing. Is the West ready to sacrifice itself for the sake of illusory propaganda goals in Ukraine? Are you personally ready?
Thank you.

Video at the link.
Kinda popular video making the rounds being discussed at places.
I'm going to go ahead and say ... fake.
But see what you think.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...ebate.html
I saw a saucer UFO once.
Wilmington Delaware.
A few years back ... maybe 5 years? Can't remember.
Mid day. Sunny. No clouds.
Silent. Moved FAST. Silver.
About as far off the ground as a sky scraper building.
Didn't hover and wobble like this one in the video.
