Why are people so weird?

I am away from my house at this moment and I have this guy I have been seeing a few times and I didnt tell him I was leaving so he brought something by my house. He did not have my address. I know he can get my address from my car tag because he's in law enforcement and I am not sure what to do about it. My neighbor called me because she is checking up on my house while I'm not there and said "there is a bag hanging from your porch." I told her to open it and it is something personal and kind of expensive which I don't want and makes me feel awkward why do these people do such weird things why can't people be normal!

I DON'T WANT TO BE THAT PERSON! but I kind of want to turn him in for creeping on me. Because when I called to ask him wtf he just asked if I read the note and said most girls would love something like that?!?!?! And asked me because my friend posted a bunch of pics from our road trip like trying to interrogate me about why I didn't tell him I was going out of town and all this.  And I am like......we literally went out for coffee twice and one dinner............. hung up on him because I dont know what to do. Blocked right now but I just don't know. 

Would you guys turn him in?! My friends are dying they think it's so sweet so theyre legit roasting me for being like ewwwwwww. But they have no perspective because we are all single cat ladies.

Is it even legal for law enforcement to use their tools to find someone's address?!

I use to work with law enforcement and believe me that is what we all did - using police records to see what is what...including me. It's second nature in that environment to do that sort of thing.

Having said that I don't know if 3 dates means something more serious is happening, is it?

Some cops are okay, some aren't. 

If he didn't care about you or think you are girlfriend material he wouldn't bother looking into police records for red flags on you.

It's your call.

Maybe try again but keep both eyes open for red flags that can't easily be explained away.

Another thing, consider what a cop experiences while on duty, it's horrific stuff, so try to be understanding if he doesn't act normal, because that kind of job changes a person into being cautious and smarter about things we haven't got a clue about in our non-cop lives.

Anyway, discuss it with your girlfriends and see if you all agree that his job may play a big role in how his behaviour may be questionable.

Also my daughter has been telling me about horror dating stories from Tik Tok, so if dating is that difficult these days, is it any wonder people are behaving weird?

No, it is not legal for him to look up your address or any other information about you outside of an official reason such as a warrant, traffic stop etc.... not for personal gain.

They can only do so if it's connected to a legitimate investigation or official duty.

Sounds like it could develop into stalking if it does not tick the box already.

Creepy for sure. I doubt he has done enough to get himself in much trouble. It might bring more trouble from him by turning him in at this point. Sounds like all he is illegally run your plate. Which will get him a slap on the wrist.

You could try telling him you are gay, or no longer interested in what he is.

Whether you do or don't turn him in.

I would get a camera up recording the front of your house. I would record any and all interaction with him. Just in case you can't get him to leave you alone. You got more than he said she said, when you do turn him in.

He sounds a bit controlling and I think that you should take this specific time to set very real boundaries in your relationship with them. That aside, if you believe he has any redeeming qualities, give him another chance after you set your goal posts, but definitely set them.

He is the first guy who understands that I don't even like my phone and just leave it wherever and on silent or turned off so I don't really respond to messages and things unless I'm at work since I have to have my phone on then. Others have been downright psychotic when they call and I don't call back or answer. So I thought I finally found a normal person then he does this. Yes dating is hard! I have had two absolute horror stories and then this questionable thing.

You're right though it could just be his job where maybe he just worried about me going out of town because its just me and my two girlfriends and we are pretty far away. I shouldn't have panicked so much I think.

It's up to you but cops can also be controlling, but they have to be that way because of the job...or commanding may be a better word...

Maybe he's also protective of you and rightly so because women have to realize that some sick men prey on women, but I'm sure he can tell you work horror stories about that.

You will know and be able to read the situation better than we can.

Just keep in mind it's somewhat of a breach of privacy, and some people take liberties if you let them.

The best thing to do is be straight and come right out and ask him what he was all about acting in that manner.
