Trump is in talks with Russia to end the war
(03-01-2025, 09:48 AM)UltraBudgie Wrote: the way this thread is going hot and heavy is making me more and more suspicious that trump told zelenski to blow it up. like financial markets that generate the most profit potential from oscillations, political footplay generates the most powerchange potential from conflict. just thinking to all those years trump spent scripting fake drama for the boardroom scenes of that reality show of his. he's no stranger to it. gets all the eurofret going to pony up, plus z really needs to seem unknuckled to avoid the rope back home. course it's prolly not trump scripting this stuff but some strat-ai. go figure.

LOL don't take make Saturday morning procrastination as anything but that.

This will all blow over and there will be a peace deal signed by Zelensky...sooner or later

question is how many more Ukrainians will be killed and how much moola the EU and the UK will have to pony up? and if they send troops

Never ending war that can't be won.".

Did you read what Kellogg said about this?

Please see above.

He disagrees with this.

How is he "all over the place"?

He still wants security guarantees?

Pretty consistent, no?

Zelenskyy screwed the pooch.   The agreement, which was done behind closed doors as is proper, was all set and then Zelenskyy got in front of the cameras and insulted the Vice President and tried to reinsert the demand that America send security (boots on the ground) to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy blew it up.  Not Trump.

(and no ... I"m absolutely NOT MAGA  nor am I a Trump fan. )

Did he mention "boots on the ground"?

Nothing has changed since yesterday.

He said he was ready to sign the minerals agreement yesterday too.

And then, after it was agreed on, he tried to sneak in that America needs to provide more 'security arrangements' (boots on the ground).

He is saying the same thing today that he said yesterday.   No change.  He claims there is an agreement ... and then he adds the words 'BUT we want more .... '.   So that's not an agreement.

We are not going to give him more 'security agreements'.  There will be no American boots on the ground and there will be no NATO membership.   That's what he's pushing for.

Yeah .. he did.
On the TV news he said he wanted 'peacekeepers'.
That's boots on the ground.
And our people aren't going in.
That's the bottom line.

Zelensky's approval rating has got higher.

Even the opposition support him and there is no calling for elections:

It's simple logistics,

As Trump suggested why would he sign a deal for Ukrainian rare earth minerals if he wouldn't be able to exploit said minerals because there is a war going on?

What Trump will do is rebuild infrastructure and improve mining operations in Ukraine and he damn sure isn't going to put American sub-contractors in harm's way. After all most of Ukraine's abled-bodied persons are fighting.

It would be too of an expensive startup and uninsurable and lack security just off the top of my head.

Yep.
And others disagree with Kellogg.

Bottom line ... accounted for or not ... it's a corrupt government and a waste of money.

Our billions have been paying for the corrupt government to have 'pensions'
and our billions have been pumped into their economy to 'keep it going'.
At the same time 1/5 of our children go to bed hungry, our schools are failing,
and our elderly are becoming the largest growing population of homeless in the
country.

It's an unending war.   An unending suck on our finances.   And if we send people
it would be an unending meat grinder because Ukraine is running out of people to
send to war.

I agree with (Democrat) Obama from 2014 and the last time Russia invaded Ukraine ...
it's a regional war for the players to
figure out and for Europe to take care of.  It's THEIR back yard.  If they are afraid
of Putin expanding (and they should be), then THEY can send their money and THEY
can send their troops.

Russia is the bad guy.   They should not be allowed to win.  But they are going to.
No matter how much money America or Europe throw at it .. no matter how many
troops they throw at it ...   Unless you want to jump to WWIII.  That's the next step
to end an unending war.

Then Russia will lose.
