Here's an example of Trump whiplash.
He's going down one path then suddenly changes course.
We see that a lot ...
Last we heard, he was having the State Dept cut back on foreign VISAS from China.
Now we hear from him that he wants to let in 600,000 Chinese 'students'.
(communist spies for the Chinese government)
Currently there are 270,000 Chinese 'students' enrolled in America.
Trump wants to more than double that number.
STORY HERE
So the question is .. why? He's saying he's in talks with China and that he wants to get along with China. So what does he get from China in exchange for this? What deal is he making? (any deal with China will just get broken by them anyways)
This is NOT 'America first'. The slots that those Chinese 'students' will get at universities could have gone to Americans who are real students. And all those Chinese 'students' will be engaged in information gathering about people and places, etc etc.
I'm sure Marco Rubio and the State Dept are all pulling their hair out right now trying to keep up with the changes. And, from what I"m reading in comments sections of different news sources reporting on this, the MAGA people who voted for Trump are VERY unhappy with this. I'm not Trump-MAGA but I have to say I'm not happy with it either. Seems a pretty dumb move from a security point of view.

Im not a fan of this shit either. I understand the reasoning, but still don't like this at all. He had better get a helluva trade deal
Coming off 4 years of Chinese spies everywhere irks me a bit on a Tuesday midday
If our universities are struggling, it's a sign perhaps their education and courses have no value in today's world
We have too many universities and not enough trade schools.

Trump's Trade Pivot: Welcomes 600,000 Chinese Students Amid Uproar
Last updated 5 hours ago
On August 25, 2025, President Donald Trump announced a policy reversal, allowing 600,000 Chinese students to study at U.S. universities to enhance trade ties with Beijing and bolster financially struggling colleges. This move, framed as an economic strategy, reverses prior restrictions on visas for Chinese students in sensitive fields like STEM, amid ongoing security concerns about espionage. Critics, including Trump's own supporters, argue it prioritizes foreign interests over American students, potentially displacing them and undermining "America First" principles.

Whatever deal he may be getting from China over this ... they will break it.
He's trusting the Chinese Govt like he trusts Putin in the peace negotiations.
Trump is being a useful idiot for the Chinese Gov't.
The whiplash on this is massive.
It's total ... WTF are you doing??

WHIP LASH!!
Just three months ago ...
Story Here
Quote:Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Wednesday that the U.S. will “aggressively revoke” visas held by Chinese students, “including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.” All future visa applications from China will also be subject to additional scrutiny, he added.
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce declined to give examples of what fields will be prioritized for scrutiny, speaking at a press briefing the next day. Bruce did, however, indicate that the decision is partly tied to concerns about technology transfer to China, saying the U.S. “will not tolerate the CCP’s exploitation of U.S. universities or theft of U.S. research, intellectual property, or technologies to grow its military power, conduct intelligence collection, or repress voices of opposition.”
In 2020, President Donald Trump issued a policy barring visas for Chinese graduate students and visiting researchers who have ties to certain institutions with connections to the Chinese military. And during his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump vowed to “impose whatever visa sanctions and travel restrictions are necessary to shut off Chinese access to American secrets.”

Okay, I guess hold on and lets see where this gets us. If this move helps us have a successful economic holiday season then maybe it has some short term benefit. Idk, is this a 1 time 600k deal or reoccurring? My guess the education visa would only last 4 maybe 8 years at the most.

Yeah, if they break the trade deal, then we will deal with that.
I don't trust China either but it's a balancing act.
This is a huge concession. There had better be some honey from Poohbear

The problem is that the 'students' from China are mostly spies.
They are gathering intel on the students and faculty and schools.
Gathering for the Communist Chinese Gov't.
They are influencing what is happening on America.
And they are taking up spots that American kids could have in the colleges.
This is not putting 'America first'.

Yes, I understand. I'm not agreeing with this move I don't like it. But I understand there is more going on then I am aware of so I would like to hope there was something America needed more right this second which lead to this. My first instinct is because the rates have yet to be cut we need something to help boost the cut when we get the cut because that probably won't be enough of a cut for average people to do a refinance but maybe bigger debts would benefit. We still need to rebuild a lot of our infrastructure to be China independent. Currently his economic plan is working but if we can't get it enough fuel for it to drink it'll stall so we have a big holiday season on the horizon and positive sales numbers even if it based on a temporary deal with China could help achieve those numbers which will make business more confident to invest their money into Trumps plan. Just my 2 cents on this.
