US-Iran War Mudpit Thread

Since you brought up Israel- Something has just come up on the radar.

Is there anyone that is not under Israeli influence? I was hoping for more "Peace Through Strength" rather than partnering with a country that is endlessly involved in wars.

MANPADS, "shoulder-launched" guided missiles, smuggled into the UK, most likely via container cargo ports.

When you have the resources of a state-backed government, made savy to various smuggling techniques and contacts as a result of years operating under the weight of international sanctions, it becomes relatively easy to smuggle virtually anything into virtually anywhere.

Yes.  I hadn't thought of that.

The most important thing just happened.  You can see the dog attached to the tail now.

Now there is a framework for a peace deal underneath the distraction and use of Iran...

"ME Peace" gets a reset to 10/6.

And its STILL the same deal.
Quote:The emerging agreement centered on a massive trilateral exchange:
  • For Saudi Arabia: The Saudis sought a formal mutual defense pact with the United States and assistance in developing a civilian nuclear program.
  • For Israel: The ultimate prize was full normalization of ties with the Arab and Islamic world's most prominent leader, integrating the Israeli state deeply into Middle Eastern economic and security networks.
  • For the Palestinians: In exchange for Riyadh's recognition of Israel, the deal required significant, irreversible concessions from Israel toward the creation of a Palestinian state, including handing over more control of territory in the West Bank.

This is waiting for Netanyahu to be deafeated this Fall.  The Center-Right "Together Party" and "Yasher Party" needs their (non-Likud) coalition to be negotiating on Israel's behalf. A government willing to withdraw in the West Bank and give Arabs (with Saudi Arabia's possible Guardianship) more Old City influence.

It doesn't need a left-leaning party, but it needs something way closer to that then Netanyahu.

Some might argue that giving the Saudis a nuclear deal is a bit of a piss-take, considering what's expected of the Iranians.

Talk about adding fuel to the fire...

It's a non-starter anyway, as Trump wished them to sign the Abraham Accords.

And the Saudis would never consider doing so without Palestine being recognised as a state...
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

You might have noticed at the petrol pump, that this war has international consequence. Despite the US claims of oil independence, they still have stolen Venezuela's oil, and yet even still, their petrol prices are through the roof now, too.

As a result of raised fuel prices, the transport and production of most commodities will also go up. Oil produced agrichemicals will falter, farm machinery will sit unusable and food production will fall.

Iran War Could Push UK Grocery Prices Up by Hundreds as Fertiliser Supply Stalls — Petrol Is Just the Start

The UN has estimated that an additional 45 million people will starve because of the war as it is now, but with the the weather chaos introduced by climate change, an unexpected cold or hot snap could escalate that number by a factor of 10. Britain has had famines before in its history - it's still a real possibility - especially so after Brexit.

Hunger in the United Kingdom

Every time the US and Israel escalate things, Iran has been able to escalate things too. Every time Iran escalates things, the US and Israel escalates things too. The consequence is that this war will continue to escalate as long as it runs. Already, Iran aligned Houthi's are attacking oil tankers on the other side of Saudi Arabia and attacking alternate oil routes and pipelines there.

Iran is mountainous and has dug-in defenses like Afghanistan. The USA lost there, and the Afghanis didn't have the ordnance and military that Iran has, and they defeated the Russian and then the US forces, one after the other.

Sea and air bombardment only go so far and many are suggesting that the only option to really win against Iran is boots on the ground. If the experience of Afghanistan is indicative, there will be slaughter on both sides and the USA does not necessarily have the winning odds.

This whole war is stupid and has real-world consequences even for a rural backwater somewhere in Britain. Are you willing to go into poverty so that Trumb can achieve some aim that even he isn't clear about? I'm not!

Not for me or you, but definitely petroleum companies.

"Winning" is for AMACO, ExxonMobil, BP, and Shell.

Everyone's going to the party... again.

it's a big beautiful war..

And lets not forget the ones that have paid for the social media preview .

It always helps to know before the market begins to move.

Actually, Lloyds of London, Aviva, Direct Line, Islam, and the USA did not exist at all in Biblical times.

That whole "Biblical" BS excuse is how they motivate people to believe that the particular current conflict is fulfilment of prophecy, inevitable and righteous. Propaganda used particularly in the remnants of the British Empire. It's not true. Read your bible, most countries involved in these wars don't even get a mention - even metaphorically (which probably isn't a good way to interpret the Bible, either).

Iran was not at peace for 47 years, anyone who says that or thinks that is a fool or a shill for Iran.

The world will thank the US once the scourage of Iran is removed.

Anyone who wants Iran to win or the US to lose, then you are an enemy of freedom and of the US.
