The problem being that Iran and US have not formally been at war for 47 years.
And "Death to America" is a political slogan, not a literal policy.

"Reasoned discussion" has been attempted many, many times on here and also back in the day on ATS.
It seems to be called "reasoned discussion" only when its between the OMB crowd.
When Trump supporters attempt to inject facts and truths in a discussion, the OMB crowd doesn't like it.

Congress would be more than happy to keep their hands clean of unpopular policies considering they have no term limits, and need to win elections.
The result would be the same.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

I'd describe myself as liberal, with a small "L".
Over here that often describes a center-right, pro-business philosophy that advocates for limited government intervention, free markets, and personal responsibility.
Certainly not on the left.
I'm critical of all politicians, whether Left or Right.
