What infuriates me is that all democrats and 4 republicans want an immediate withdraw from Iran.

I don't see how that is a good analogy.

We occupied that country, so the quick withdrawal meant stuff left behind. Also, that was decided far in advance. This time congress hasn't approved of the hostilities in the first place, if anything they exercised their constitutional powers over war. That said, Obama also used the "ceasefire" to reset the 60 day clock with Libya, so while this isn't unprecedented, it still shows executive trying to pull rank on Congress when they have constitutional powers and the president has War Powers Resolution Act... Which last time I checked, the Constitution has power over anything else. 

But who are we kidding, none of that matters anymore. It's not just Trump, all presidents have been consolidating more power for executive, and close to no one has tried to challenge that. Congress would be more than happy to keep their hands clean of unpopular policies considering they have no term limits, and need to win elections.

Everyone on the planet has had reasons to toughen up, since well before the USA existed. It's a human default, but we are all intelligent and not passive.

When things were great in the USA among the nations, the US didn't get there on its own. You can't get there on your own because all the rest of the world is just better resourced, and has found ways to cooperate.

The USA has already passed your peak, and it has become a pariah, a betrayer of alliances, a traitor to those once its allies.

No-one trusts you guys anymore so no one's gonna cooperate anymore. In trying to achieve what you once had, without the rest of the world, you will convert your entire landmass to a giant Detroit.

Im just trynna figure out if we are liberating the Iranian people, regime change, dealing with the nuke situation (2x), gaining control of the strait, blocking their blockade, acquiescing to Israel, gonna storm Kharg island, manipulate the markets for personal gain, lose more aircraft, lose more credibility, use diplomacy (and not lie about it), make the ME safer (the world too), start WWIII, wait it out, or become best buds in a surprise made-for-tv-ending.

Lemme know what I missed. It’s a lot and it’s confusing these distinct military goals over there.

Comes down to that, if you believe how close Iran was to getting a functioning nuclear warhead to attach to their missiles.

This administration believed they were close enough that they risked American lives and the midterms and 2028.

They had a high degree of certainty and genuinely believed

you cant let unstable nations have nukes.

Surely none of the nuclear armed countries is as unstable as the USA is, both now, and to a lesser extent, historically.
