I haven't seen this much crying since Biden's fuel prices were higher.

Oh wait.....did these guys cry this much then?

The attackers will be muslims, and you know it. Having muslims slowly take over your nation is an insane idea at the very least. Mass cultural suicide in addition to theft of our nation built up by our ancestors who will be turning in their graves with what's happening right now. Total insanity has taken hold of our world.

That's not "pattern recognition" it's cherry-picking extreme cases and ignoring the bigger picture.

Most terrorism victims globally are killed by groups targeting other muslims.

And again, the vast majority of muslims have nothing to do with violence.

In the same way, the vast majority of our own people have absolutely no connection to terrorists.

Also worth keeping in mind that here in the UK, some terror plots actually get prevented.

And when they have happened, the attackers have come from multiple different backgrounds, including far-right extremists...

You're conflating religion with ideology and geopolitics, and it's a very slippery slope.

Muslims' "Taking over" is rhetoric, not reality.

They are a minority here in the UK, and again, a highly diverse group, comprising all sorts of different types of people.

Generalisations do nothing but promote stereotypes and spread fear.

And thats not in insight, it's bias and selective memory.

Anyhoo I don't imagine we are going to convince one another to the contrary, so...

"Today's Spokesperson Briefing Stated: We have had no negotiations with America in these thirty-one days. What has occurred is the submission of a negotiation request, accompanied by a set of proposals from #America, which has reached us through certain intermediaries, including Pakistan. Our position is very clear. At present, as America's military aggression and invasion continue with full intensity, all our efforts and capabilities are devoted to defending Iran's essence. We have felt the previous experiences with our flesh, skin, and bones, and we do not forget the betrayal that was inflicted upon diplomacy in two instances within less than a year."

I think it's only going to increase it.

I think the crazy fundamentalist sorts will be coming out of the woodwork this summer.

It's almost a guarantee, given the temperature of the planet...

Fear will be the colour of the day.

But hopefully it does not prevail...

Quote:The post reports a relative surge in Strait of Hormuz vessel traffic, visualized in an 11-second AIS animation showing green dots clustering and moving through the chokepoint, from near-zero to dozens amid the 2026 Iran-US-Israel war that began February 28 with strikes killing Supreme Leader Khamenei.
Pre-crisis daily transits averaged 138 vessels carrying 20% of global oil, but Iranian IRGC attacks, mines, and closures dropped this to 5-7 recently per marine trackers, validating the "uplift" claim while absolute volumes stay critically low at under 10% normal.
Yakoby's "regime has lost control" interpretation aligns with US Operation Epic Fury's progress, including a slain Iranian navy commander on March 26, yet Iran enforces selective passage bans on Western allies as of March 31, per UNCLOS violations documented in ongoing maritime reports.

National average gas prices in the US peaked at $4.93 per gallon in June of 2022.  That was about 4 months after Putin began his "special military operation" (SMO) in Ukraine which had the effect of more or less instantaneously removing about 3% of the world's oil supply from the market.

Trump's and Netanyahu's SMO in Iran has had the effect of more or less instantaneously removing about 20% of the world's oil supply from the market.  That's a disruption about 6.7 times larger than what we saw in 2022.

In the first month after Putin's SMO, gas prices in the US rose 20%. We've only  been in Trump's SMO for one month and gas prices have risen by 25%.

Maybe we should let this play out for another 3 months or so before doing the comparison?
