The UN security resolution has NOTHING to do with American law on this matter. I see it differently, as did the DOJ at the time. The U.N. authorised the coalition with it's security council backing and calling for the defence of the Libyan people, immediate action was needed. The Iranian attack had no kind of legal U.N. backing. In that case, a backing from the U.S. congress for it's actions would make it's case for an attack more legitimate. Quote:The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) set out that the U.S. role—initially limited airstrikes and enforcement of a no‑fly zone carried out as part of an international coalition under UNSCR 1973—could be undertaken without a separate AUMF because it was not the kind of sustained ground combat that the War Powers Resolution contemplates "Denial is a common tactic that substitutes deliberate ignorance for thoughtful planning."

It's not Trump who will ultimately pay the price. And this entire debacle is apt to last a lot longer than 4 days. As to draining the swamp, i think we all wish to see that happen, but as you well know, that is not Trump's objective. It's an election slogan.

The UN resolution didn't give any legal backing in America. It was irrelevant as far as our laws are concerned. Obama and Trump did the same kind of operation. Neither requires approval of Congress until 90 days later. But Pelosi said Obama was okay to do it but Trump wasn't. It's hypocrisy. Political bias. Both Obama and Trump followed the law ... equally.

I just see it as a U.N. resolution calling for a coalition covering any future legal problems. It was at a time when U.N. authority appeared a legitimate reason to act. How many of those countries from the Libyan coalition have stood up for this?? "Denial is a common tactic that substitutes deliberate ignorance for thoughtful planning."

Is this about regime change? Now it seems to be about ICBMs?
Whatever it is, the objectives seem a bit unclear.

SLOW but seems like progress to me, we didn't even know these persons previously. Even Hillary suggested some co-conspirators should have been charged, which doesn't mean you believe her politician's deflection, but it is a potential expanded look into the Epstein stuff.
