Thats the issue with a 26-country alliance they had better come up with something concrete that has some weight to it and quickly.

Yes, this is exactly why NATO was set up the way it was. The purpose was to "keep America in, keep Germany down, and keep Russia out". They knew that without the US leading the effort, they would be much less effective against a large coordinated enemy like the Soviet Union. This followed the allied structure during WWII that was set up with Eisenhower as the "Supreme Allied Commander". It is instructive to read Eisenhower's book "Crusade in Europe".
For several years before the outbreak of WWII, Ike was the General who had done most of the behind the scenes planning for the contingency of the US entering the war. So when war broke out, Chief of Staff of the Army General Marshall selected Ike to lead the liberation of Europe. Ike knew very well what would be needed in terms of men and material and how long it would take for American industry to supply it, but he felt that the bigger challenge would be keeping European nations from getting picked off one by one out of the alliance.
I hope that Trump doesn't know or care about any of this, because then we could chalk it up to his ignorance. The alternative is that he's doing this deliberately to set up another land war in Central Europe in which case it would be active malevolence.

That was fine during the Cold War; it should have been modified afterward. Soon thereafter, NATO began gobbling up countries.
Russia is a shell of the former USSR Ukraine exposed that truth, and the US-NATO Europe, and the UK all needed to adjust thier strategies. It was long overdue

I know a few Ukrainians that have been here for a couple of generations, and they get really pissed off about these people coming forward and making statements like this ass.
Call me stupid and inexperienced since I am not there, but judging from the reports and what I see on Telegram, the RDK Russian Volunteer Division in the Ukrainian army is fighting harder against Putin who they hate, than the Ukrainians.

And yet the media likes to talk about how hard the Ukrainians are pushing back against Putin and his forces. The whole "war" is a sick joke where human lives are lost in the punchline.

The Ukrainian fighter/soldier might be the finest there is, adaptable, intelligent, resourceful, and fierce AF. Read somewhere else and I agree their troops are the most compelling reason to ally with them because, in the next war, it might be really advantageous to have them on our side.
You saw where Trump is floating the idea of sending USTroops from Germany to Hungary?

BREAKING: Trump's MASSIVE military shake-up - may move 35,000 US troops from Germany to (friendlier) Hungary! Both the security AND economic implications are HUGE. And it's a BIG rejection for Berlin.

I watch a Russian podcaster interview Russian young men in Russia asking them will they fight in the war with Ukraine. The younger they are the more said 'not if they are sober'.
Rumor has it: Come March 21, 2025 Putin plans a mobilzation in Russia to take by force men from their homes to fight on the front lines.

Are you sure? We might be too busy moving 35,000 troops from Germany to MORE FRIENDLY COUNTRIES, let me say that again, from Germany to MORE FRIENDLY COUNTRIES like HUNGARY. WTF?
Because apparently we can only side with dictators now. So be obsessed, be concerned, be anything you want, BECAUSE THAT'S FREAKING SCARY.

Is this really all necessary to get NATO to pay 2%? And what's this 5% crap all of a sudden? So we're going to increase our defense budget by the required 1.6% (432 billion).

I just like how the NOT WAR HAWK hailed as the brilliant leader that wants to stop WWIII from happening and bring peace to Earth says we will achieve that by alligning with dictators while guilting/threatening (our still) NATO allies into a two to four fold increase in their military spending.
I'm sure Lockheed will love it, but the world might decide to buy from China instead. Out of spite.
I just don't see an end that isn't ending with us in some kind of axis. Maybe a cold axis of jackass men that turn democratic societies into autocratic kingdoms.

So do you think Trump's gonna let Putin take Odessa?
Is Britain, for that matter?
What they gonna do?
