Trump is in talks with Russia to end the war
So Europe decides 26-1 to defend Ukraine but can't agree on how to do so.
Thats the issue with a 26-country alliance they had better come up with something concrete that has some weight to it and quickly.

Europe fails to reach a deal on Ukraine, rearmament after emergency talks end without agreement

Europe remains divided on how to support Ukraine and shore up its defenses in the face of Russian aggression, as emergency summit talks ended without a consensus on Thursday.
A statement on Ukraine was signed by all but one of the 27 EU members with a lone country — believed to be Hungary — holding out.
As leaders pledged to ramp up defense spending, the main European powers couldn’t agree on what exactly that support for Ukraine might look like and how Europe should adapt to what many see as a new world order under President Trump.

In 2014 Russia invaded an area of Crimea that was majority Russian Sepratist. it wasn't Russia vs. Ukraine so much as Russia supporting Ukrainian Separatists vs. Ukraine. Obama was prudent to stay the hell out of it. It was more of a civil war.

This was a full-scale invasion of a sovereign nation to the capital for invented propaganda reasons. The Banderas and such going for "Most Ironic Invasion Ever." Their own 90% inoperable Shock and Awe. Totally different scenario.

And while now it's fallen into territory with allegiance closer to Crimea, it's still a different situation. The world had reason the second time that wasn't available the first time, and America was still part of the world then.

That's a helluva rationalization, so after a short 8 years Crimea was now defacto Ukrainian sovereign territory, and at least early on it was insisted it be returned to Ukraine?  You know after it was ethnically cleansed... sort of like shelling Donbas and Lughantz are the opening salvos to cleanse those nasty oblasts...

This sadly says a lot about the public appearances of the Ukrainian people. During the last great war (WW1 and WW2) the people that were being attacked fought as hard and, in many cases, harder than the forces that went in to save them. Now we have these people coming out of the WEF Playbook, and they make it seem that the Ukrainians are in need of others to fight because they can't handle the fight.

I know a few Ukrainians that have been here for a couple of generations, and they get really pissed off about these people coming forward and making statements like this ass.

Yes, this is exactly why NATO was set up the way it was.  The purpose was to "keep America in, keep Germany down, and keep Russia out".  They knew that without the US leading the effort, they would be much less effective against a large coordinated enemy like the Soviet Union. This followed the allied structure during WWII that was set up with Eisenhower as the "Supreme Allied Commander".  It is instructive to read Eisenhower's book "Crusade in Europe".

For several years before the outbreak of WWII, Ike was the General who had done most of the behind the scenes planning for the contingency of the US entering the war.  So when war broke out,  Chief of Staff of the Army General Marshall selected Ike to lead the liberation of Europe.  Ike knew very well what would be needed in terms of men and material and how long it would take for American industry to supply it, but he felt that the bigger challenge would be keeping European nations from getting picked off one by one out of the alliance.

I hope that Trump doesn't know or care about any of this, because then we could chalk it up to his ignorance.  The alternative is that he's doing this deliberately to set up another land war in Central Europe in which case it would be active malevolence.

That was fine during the Cold War; it should have been modified afterward. Soon thereafter, NATO began gobbling up countries.

Russia is a shell of the former USSR Ukraine exposed that truth, and the US-NATO Europe, and the UK all needed to adjust thier strategies. It was long overdue

Call me stupid and inexperienced since I am not there, but judging from the reports and what  I see on Telegram, the RDK Russian Volunteer Division in the Ukrainian army is fighting harder against Putin who they hate, than the Ukrainians.

And yet the media likes to talk about how hard the Ukrainians are pushing back against Putin and his forces. The whole "war" is a sick joke where human lives are lost in the punchline.
