Ukraine's rare minerals deal with the U.S., to me, sounds better and better the more I learn about it.

Rare minerals underground in Ukraine are estimated to be worth Trillions of dollars, not to mention the smaller amounts of natural gas (smaller amounts of oil) underground.

Unfortunately, this deal could only guarantee short term security for Ukraine and neighboring countries until the U.S. puts their corporate boots on the ground there then extracts their $500 Billion payback amount, then they are vulnerable to Russian attack once again?

There has to be security measures put in place for the long term, but Putin won't go for that. So what's the solution?

I suppose what will happen is that if chaos in "post-war" Ukraine threatens to spill out into Russia or Poland, threatening energy and industrial infrastructure, then something will have to be done. Putin will of course be blamed for the chaos, and in no position to object at that point. I think Tusk hinted at something in his comments last week:

"We do not plan to send Polish soldiers to the territory of Ukraine. We will ... give logistical and political support to the countries that will possibly want to provide such guarantees in the future, such physical guarantees."

"Poland ... can and must play a positive role," he said. "By this I mean (ensuring) the closest possible cooperation between Poland, Ukraine, the European Union, the United States, European countries such as Great Britain and Norway. There can be no place for 'either/or' - the European Union or the United States."

I can hear the sound of Trump destabilizing the free West, wrecking NATO, calling Zelensky a Dictator, whilst ignoring the fact that Putin obviously is one, blaming Ukraine falsely for starting the War whilst allowing the unelected Musk to take a wrecking ball (chainsaw?) to US defence and Govt infrastructure.

Could a Russian agent achieve more to destabilize the US and the West?

Seems like the traitor Trump is doing just that.

Get this, even Iceland (having no military) is kicking in money to help Ukraine.

Screaming aside, this smells to me like USA attempting to be independent and not beholden to paying the European's way any more, and actively reaching for a peace deal.
Meanwhile the politicians in Europe are having a fundraiser to keep the fighting going on.
