Supposedly for 60 days

I agree it doesn't look good, but it's a necessary and needed "evil"

Again Im fine with protesting, hell Im fine with them marching in the streets till it becomes a complete cluster---- for innocent motorists.

BUT if you were here illegally, you had an option. It would be great if they could vet the long-term solid contributors from those draining off society

A country of 340 million can't operate at peak efficiency with such an influx of non-citizens, straining the infrastructure and getting bennies while our veterans and the citizen poor get shat upon.

You're right, some of the headlines were misleading saying that the 20k California National Guard had been activated. But only a portion is actually being deployed.

I can't argue against illegal immigration, it's in it's name. If you're not here legally, you need to live with the reality you can be deported if you're caught.

They're not all bad, and some even work harder than most Americans, but that doesn't change the fact you snuck in and can be sent back.

If someone somewhere is all fired up about certain criminals being brought to justice…

Why choose ICE and why choose to be upset about persons who are present illegally?

Why not attack the DEA for pursuing fentanyl dealers?

Why not the ATF for prosecuting straw purchasers?

The IRS for holding tax-dodging billionaires accountable?

...and so on and so forth.

I think the problem is arresting and deporting people without due legal process.  In breach of the Constitution?

Calling in the National Guard seems unnecessary and purely just to inflame things.

So much for due process and the Constitution.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

ICE was pulling people out of law courts and the likes of Walmart ffs!

A lot of these so-called illegal immigrants have jobs, contribute to society, and pay taxes.

Is that really the same sort you wish to see deported?

Seems counterproductive to me.

Because they are not criminals or drug dealers.

Just people who wanted a better life and who work hard to exist, just like the rest.

Seems rather inhumane to me.

I can empathize with people wanting to come here for a better life, and contribute to society. That doesn't necessarily justify it though.

I don't agree with all the tactics and means of this admin, but there is a reality that we've gotten millions of illegal migrants over the last few years. People are scared to come up here now, and we've seen border crossings get slashed.

I think we need to address the root problems if we want to see meaningful, and more empathetic change.

I think reforming seasonal visas would help, and I think we should move a lot of our offshore manufacturing to Mexico. If Mexico has a thriving economy, I'd imagine most immigrants in Latin America would go there as it's a Spanish speaking country with opportunity. This would keep our supply chain closer and more efficient as well, win win.

Nothing 'so called' about it.
They are illegal.
That makes them criminals.
That means they should be kicked the hell out.
They can go through the legal process and do it right
instead of being line jumpers.

Criminals with jobs that pay taxes.

Do you know who else ticks that box?

Politicians.

I just dont get why you would wish to see people who contribute to society, play the game, and pay taxes to be deported.

The problem being in a state like California and a city like Los Angeles.

What ICE are doing is apt to create quite a few root problems of their own.

Again, a lot of those people being deported or picked up have lived in the USA for the greater part of their existence, and have a life, job, and family.

I thought Trump said he would go after the wrong'yins.

If that's who they are, well................................

You assume too much.
Illegals cost real Americans 150 billion dollars a year.
 https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/hou...240508.pdf

They flood the schools with students who are uneducated, can't speak the language, take up resources.  Same with doctors and hospitals, receiving medical care and not paying and flooding emergency rooms across the country as the illegals use them as free primary care centers.   And the massive increase in law enforcement needed to police them.  They suck up more than they contribute.  Example - look at NYC using tax payer money to put illegals up in expensive hotels and give them free meals.

Many are criminals in their own countries and they continue their criminal operations here.

They do not 'play the game'.  If they did, they would have come here legally and waited their turn instead of being line jumpers.

A country can absorb just so many migrants at a time.  They are usually uneducated, can't speak the language, bring no skills, suck off the taxpayer, and fail to integrate socially and culturally.   If too many come in, it breaks a country financially AND culturally.   The illegals in these protests are out there flying their home country flags ... getting into the faces of all real Americans with them ... not integrating but instead taking over in the name of their own home (real) country.

Kick 'em ALL out.   They are ALL criminals.
They can try to come in LEGALLY and they can wait their turn in line.

There's still injustice in people being here illegally though, even if they are contributing.

Think of the exploitation they're open to on the passage here, and then once they have a job. They're not going to report an employer for unsafe work conditions, just look at some of the roofers.

Again, if people want to see the problem fixed, they have to go after the root issues, such as the massive amount of employers exclusively seeking illegals. They'll continue to come illegally so long as those opportunities exist. I think the easiest solution to that is visas, and going after people employing illegals as much as the people coming.
