Quote:Hardcore Donald Trump supporters are calling for riots, insurrection, and assassination after a Manhattan jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
Trump became the first US president to be criminally convicted on Thursday, but said he would “continue to fight” the decision. He will have 30 days to do following his sentencing on July 11
There is no doubt about this and it's quite expectable that hardcore Trump supporters will call for riots and violence and they have done it in the past on numerous occasions. At one point they did storm the Capitol proving these threats can materialise. From the comments made online some of his supporters called for attacks on jurors, the execution of the judge or outright civil war and armed insurrection.
The Independent & Reuters have reported on the comments with some of them given in this article
Quote:In messages seen by The Independent, and others reported by Reuters, Trump die-hards on social media are calling for violence in the wake of the verdict.
“Find the jurors. All of them. Take no prisoners,” wrote one user on a Trump-focused message board.
“Just give them the rope,” said another, in an explicit reference to lynching. “The time for talking has long gone. Let them swing outside the courthouse.”

And has it happened? No. Pffffft.
Just some people talking and the left wing press being anti-Trump as usual and blowing it up.
No way to know if those few posts are actually really Trump supporters or not. Wouldn't surprise me if the few people making this kind of noise online were actually from the left and were trying to sound like they were from the right. Plants. Both sides do it ... get online and pretend to be from the other side and act like an idiot.
Trolls are like that. Spend their time online campaigning ... they think what they post on message boards actually means something and makes a difference. It doesn't.
We saw ACTUAL violence out of the left with the George Floyd riots. Haven't seen anything like that from Trump supporters.
You don't live here so you don't have to worry about it anyways.

This isn't a matter of the left versus the right.
You.are attacking the strawman and you are arguing if it has happened. I am sure you can clearly read the titles of the newspapers I linked speaking about threats and threats are often serious.
You seem to want to apologise for the behaviour of a group of Trump supporters (obviously is not everyone who engaged in this behaviour)
The Telegraph n the UK is a right wing newspaper and so your argument it's the left wing press that reports on these matters s false together with everything else you said.
The hardcore Trump supporters have a history of making threats and acting upon them. Reevwr the Capitol riots for example.

My post stands. It's factual. And yes, it's a left right issue. You don't live here so you don't get it.
And I'm not a Trump fan, so no, I'm not 'apologizing' for them. I'm stating facts.
Your statement about Trump supporters making threats and acting on them is ridiculous. They do not. January 6 was a one time thing with a few hundred out of control idiots who broke into the Capital. That's it. The Capital guards even escorted them through the building. It wasn't a violent out of control insurrection like the left wing press pretends it was. The morons who went into the building should be in jail for trespassing and in jail for any property damage they caused.
NOTHING like the George Floyd riots where people burned down government buildings, looted, rioted, etc etc.
As I said ... whine all you want ... my post stands and it's accurate.

The press is the continuous source of many allegations... allegations which many people are quick to seize to project their sentiments on. It is an ongoing problem with biased and activist journalism being coddled and promoted by editors, as well as media owners everywhere (all 6 of them.)
It is clear that any and all opportunities to create an "illusion' for history are being exploited.
Where is the objectionable "thing" which the press is talking about? Exactly where?
I think most know the answer.
It feels "good" to hate on on those you actively dislike, doesn't it? "Press... we're not for information anymore... we're for influence."

Not my statements. I am quoting several articles from different newspapers. If you have any evidence the newspapers on this occasion are wrong then provide it. Otherwise you are promoting personal opinion as fact.
As to the issue of hardcore Trump supporters, they have already proved they can act after they maje threats whrm they stormed the Capitol.
Do you have any evidence the newspapers I quoted are not saying the truth or they have mislead their readers.
I am waiting to see your response.

I need some evidence and not personal opinion. Unless you want to argue your opinion is more reliable than all the sources I provided such as
Reuters
The Independent
The Telegraph

I was merely providing some piece of news reported by a large number of newspapers covering the whole political spectrum. I don't see how this information and news could be fabricated to fit an agenda. Don't get me wrong, the press can manipulate news and information but I don't think some of the hardcore Trump supporters need the help of the press. They can handle it well on their own.

Six owners of main stream media... six. Granted, I may be wrong... there may be seven or eight... or five. And with the 'sanctioned' participation of governmnet officials in "news" propagation, it seems ludicrous to assume that it doesn't exist here as much as anywhere. I would think it would be more relevant to prove the "news" is actually free from partisan bias.
If you need direct evidence showing how, precisely, they "mislead" and 'engender specific narratives" I have to say quite frankly, I don't think anyone has that kind of time to expose without veering way off-topic.
Such things are now "common" in media, and go way WAY back in history... "Remember the Maine!" ... "Russia collusion" ... "Hillary Clinton's Kill count," seem ample examples. No one in the media world is exaclty innocent... nor exactly guilty... save precious few.. some of whom are now dead, or otherwise renderd publicly 'inert...'
Whenever some one attibutes an objectionable threatening activity to "everyone" in a group I always consider... "Fake News, anyone?"

True. You can have news and information manipulation on a number of things.
The piece of information I have linked comes from pretty much every source regardless of where they are on the political spectrum. It's not even news, it's an expectable reaction from some troubled individuals.
Most other things you mentioned are true.

Way to many of us have wholeheartedly trusted media sources for far to long. This has been well known to many on the left for decades and decades. Large numbers of books by authors displaying a liberal persuasion have been written on the not only the openness to bias by media but the very nature of most of it being a for profit business which presses the moral obligations it promises in order to bring returns to the owners and shareholders. This is old news to many on the left.
It also is old news to many on the right. Sadly though both liberals and conservatives use media in way less than an honest way. All of that should be a ''given'' to anyone who wishes to honestly seek our way out of the problems we face today. The days of''yabut'' should be over but they appear to be stronger than ever.
As for this news you have brought to this forum, I can't care less about who published it or how many Trumpers think this way. The point is that Trump himself is constantly pushing and pushing for activists to ''up their game'' because we are at war. So yes, here are examples of individuals who are speaking up and out about possible actions to ''save'' our nation. But individuals often times ''group up'' and those individuals become groups calling for violent or extreme actions. By now, we all should know that where individuals think in these terms it often goes nowhere, but when groups think like this, we all should know about ''group think'' and mob mentality, how the force of a crowd influences even the best minded individuals surrounded by that group.
Trump is pleading with individuals, but he is also exhorting groups, encouraging individuals to work as groups, some of which already exist. He is tossing tinder on a smoldering fire.
