England cutting back air conditioning during heat wave

The English government telling people they can't use their air con during a massive heat wave is a bit much. At the very least they could set a temperature for when it could be turned on/off. Sounds like it's going to be a long summer across the pond!

How are they going to enforce that sort of ban?

As to a proper Brexit?  Lol

Aside for a very specific few, Brexit has been nothing more than a complete and utter shit-show since day one.

After reading the article, I have this to say:
1 - It's not the government that is telling people "they can't use air con";
2 - It appears that the building regulations promote passive cooling, they do not force it;
3 - The article has several "reportedly", "suggest" and "allegedly";
4 - The original source appears to be behind a paywall.

So, it looks like this is just one of those "wishful thinking news", when those publishing it wanted it to be true, even if they think it's not. Smile

PS: air conditioning in large cities is really a problem, as all the hot air extracted from the houses is sent to the streets, increasing the temperature in what are already "heat islands", as cities tend to keep hot temperatures longer than smaller villages.

The article looks like the sort of tall tale GB News would attempt to spoon-feed its audience at the end of a long, hot day...
