England; Two arrested after multiple people stabbed
#1
I do wonder wonder what drove some good British citizen (s) to do this horrible deed; what set them off to commit this stabbing crime ? Thank goodness guns are hard to get in the U.K. or it could have been worse.... or.... it could have been stopped by an armed citizen before the carnage really got underway.

Quote:A witness who was on the train tells Sky News he saw someone moving through his carriage saying: "They've got a knife, I've been stabbed."
"They were making their way through the carriage to get away from the suspects. They were extremely bloodied," says the man, giving his name as Gavin.
He says by the time the train stopped, "they were basically on the floor".
"That person ended up collapsing on the floor. They were taken to an ambulance pretty much straight away," he said.
Gavin said passengers were ushered out into the station, adding: "There were multiple people who had been stabbed".

A political point ?

I have a question for you :-

Why do soldiers go into battle with automatic high calibre Rifles and machine guns and not a machete ?

You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

That's the quote of the year.

from the article in the OP:
Quote:She said the scenes some are describing were "quite terrifying".
"We are hearing about people trampling over each other. We are hearing about passengers hiding in the toilets," she said.
This is why the older generation is different. Why didn't anyone try and defend the other people, or at least try and disrupt the rampage? Everyone for themselves these days, geesh.

Better and quicker way of dispatching your enemy without you getting dispatched too.

Cannons killed thick walls of castles and all the sword training schools mostly went out of business once the muskets came along.

One thing about humanity we are good with creative ways of killing each other.  However I assure you if you look at some places in Africa the machete is the preferred weapons as it is silent, cheap, and deadly.  Just ask the Tutsi of Rwanda who survived while 800,000 of their kin were killed mostly by machetes..

It is not just Rwanda as a man walked out of a secure compound in Nigeria and was cut down by three guys with machetes. No one would have known what happened but the attackers were actually seen by a kid in the forest.

I think I would rather be killed by a bullet to the head than hacked to pieces by a machete....

Wait, did Sky News find Gavin?!

What a world.

They are scum.

As to what drove them to it.

It doesn't really matter, as their actions are inexcusable.

Lock them up and fling away the key.

It's the best we can hope for with the laws we have in place.

I wish a speedy recovery to the walking wounded, and hopefully, those in hospital all pull through.

Imagine the carnage they could have caused with the likes of high-caliber rifles or machine guns.

They could have slaughtered everyone on the train for a start.

As to the question, the same reason people dont go into battle with only their hands and feet.

Modern combat happens at long range, requiring high firepower and accuracy, hence the machine guns and rifles that troops are issued and trained to use.
