Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claims Iran is set to receive $6 billion in frozen funds from Qatar as a prerequisite to peace talks with the U.S. this week.
 
U.S. officials say no frozen Iranian funds have been released, however.
“Based on the plans made, $6 billion out of the total $12 billion of Iranian resources in Qatar will be released and returned to the country, and necessary follow-ups are being carried out,” Pezeshkian said in a statement.
Qatar also has not announced any transfer of funds to Tehran.

Remember that in May 1945, Germany surrendered, ending Nazi efforts to build atomic weapons, but the USA persisted in developing nuclear weapons.

The idea that the USA alone invented the atomic bomb, is fallacious. The speed with which other countries achieved nuclear weapons shows that they were under development in many countries around the world.

One fact is true, the USA is the only country to use atomic weapons to kill populations, and they did it twice.

Although it is claimed that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were necessary to end the war, there is ample evidence that Japan was already on the brink of surrender.

I think they dropped them to give the Soviets pause as much as to secure Japan's surrender.

Otherwise, they may not have stopped in Europe.

It's a safe bet to suggest all the same that they did indeed save lives if America had been forced to invade Japan.

But yeah, the fact remains America is the only nation on Earth ever to have used nuclear weapons in anger...twice, no less.
