Oh come on old Carpy you can't compare the Irish to islamic
Revolution terror. Totally different ball game. I don't agree with Catholic tactics but I can understand their actions of I was a youngster in Ulster when they were discriminated against in public life. From an angle of today. Islamic terror is ideological and invasive with a view to expand then take over in time. Irish were native to Brutish isles and were discriminated againstt and wanted to rule their own in what can arguably be called their land. Chalk and cheese. I was alive back then, can re!ember the quiet around the Arndale a few days after the bomb.

That's the way it works and that's why this thread exists.
Right?
Nope. Nice try.
This thread was created because we were told the “nuke program” in Iran was blown up over a year ago.

Peace at a cost:
Quote:Iranian president claims Tehran is set to receive $6 billion in frozen assets from Qatar
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claims Iran is set to receive $6 billion in frozen funds from Qatar as a prerequisite to peace talks with the U.S. this week.
U.S. officials say no frozen Iranian funds have been released, however.
“Based on the plans made, $6 billion out of the total $12 billion of Iranian resources in Qatar will be released and returned to the country, and necessary follow-ups are being carried out,” Pezeshkian said in a statement.
Qatar also has not announced any transfer of funds to Tehran.
Just $294 billion more to go.

of course there will also be sanction relief, its harder to put a dollar amount on that.

Nuclear weapons were developed through physics research, not politics.
Mainly in the US during World War II.
And no modern country "has a right" to them under international law.
The goal is, and should continue to be, non-proliferation, not entitlement...
Nuclear weapons were being developed by the Nazis and the British well before the US even started. They were in a race to get them before the other.
When the US finally joined the war, they became aware of the potential of nuclear weapons and the Nazi efforts to produce nuclear weapons (which were theoretical only at that stage). There was a concerted effort by the USA to acquire British scientists and atomic technology.
Remember that in May 1945, Germany surrendered, ending Nazi efforts to build atomic weapons, but the USA persisted in developing nuclear weapons.
The idea that the USA alone invented the atomic bomb, is fallacious. The speed with which other countries achieved nuclear weapons shows that they were under development in many countries around the world.
One fact is true, the USA is the only country to use atomic weapons to kill populations, and they did it twice.
Although it is claimed that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were necessary to end the war, there is ample evidence that Japan was already on the brink of surrender.

I think they dropped them to give the Soviets pause as much as to secure Japan's surrender.
Otherwise, they may not have stopped in Europe.
It's a safe bet to suggest all the same that they did indeed save lives if America had been forced to invade Japan.
But yeah, the fact remains America is the only nation on Earth ever to have used nuclear weapons in anger...twice, no less.

Right?
This thread exists because the President of the USA, allied with the Prime Minister of Israel, cooperated in a series of unprovoked attacks on Iran.
