Reminds me of the raid on Bin Laden with higher stakes.

Glad we got all the boys out of there, it could have been far, far worse.

اخبار جنگ امریکا ایران اسرائیل
When the channels reported 'South of Isfahan,' we assumed it meant 'South of Isfahan province,' not 'South of Isfahan city.' This means that United States Air Force air rescue crews flew about 450 kilometers deep into Iranian airspace and succeeded in rescuing the navigator without any casualties. ? @KhabarFuri

It does, however, illustrate the point that Iran can down American aircraft.

That will be the MANPADs.

And the newer models apparently have better IR tracking, faster reaction, and higher altitude range.

I mean, America will have air supremacy, but they are still susceptible to attack under the correct conditions.

I grew up watching American POWs eat gruel-like fish-eye soup in Hanoi.

I remember the first American pilot captured, and the Iraqis beat the shit out of him; he looked haunted for good reason

You have to make every possible effort to rescue any POWs, from these fanatical azzholes

I seem to recall some of the RAF Tornado pilots who got captured.

Yeah the beat the crap out of those poor souls and subjected them to all sorts of mental and physical torture.

What we experienced in the last 24 hours from the Left was nothing short of demonic.

While President Trump was working all day on a critical mission to rescue an American pilot, the left ran a massive campaign pushing the lie that he was dead.

We need a complete investigation into who paid for and coordinated these posts.

Every account involved should be fully demonetized on X.

They knew Trump had one mission: save the American pilot, not walk around and talk to the press.

They still chose to attempt a mass distraction from it with a disgusting lie.

If you need more proof the left hates America, you’re no better than them.

We can't hide from math. We can't just declare it doesn't matter, or it's too hard so not worth it. Either we pay in pain to reduce it, or we pay in inflation and a weaker dollar plus interest.

But just dismissing it and adding interest to it makes it an exponential problem, one that gets progressively worse year by year. And our spending is going up, not down right now.

Go look up the national debt before the Middle East wars, it was single digit. This problem is younger than most Americans, so I don't see how we make the case that it is unavoidable, always going to happen, and impossible to address. The only case that could be made here is for some American's to say it's not their problem, because the day of reckoning will be past them.

...and what do you suggest we actually DO about it ? Elect different politicians who pinky swear they won't spend anymore of our money ? Good luck with that.

It's not that I don't care, it's just that I've learned to not stress about things I can't do anything about.

Im apt to suggest, and this is true in my own nation just as much as the USA, or any other first-world country, for that matter.

That we start holding the people we put in power accountable for the election promises they make.

If they say they are going to do one thing, then fail to deliver, or in some instances do the complete polar opposite.

It amounts to lying.

Our elections are built on trust and accountability.

And if leaders make promises and don't follow through.

It undermines the very notion of democracy itself.

I'm a realist too. At this point, there isn't a way we can make is zero, but there are ways we can stop the bleeding.

There are always going to be things we will spend on, some we need more than others. But that doesn't mean we just say "it doesn't matter, so we can do whatever we want".

It would be like an individual who's primary cost each month was interest payments car breaks down and is done. Well, to keep paying the interest I have to keep a job, so I'll need a new car. You could get a used car for far less, a brand new car for far more which will take longer to pay off, or a Porsche. Which is the wise decision there?

Spending is going up, not down. Revenue is going down, not up. There is no cheat code, all of this will have to reconcile through taxes, inflation, or default.
