Glad they have the pilots.

Godspeed and a safe trip home...

The country Trump totally destroyed two weeks ago are still launching missiles and drones and holding the Straits, is that the something he's doing???  Lol Lol Lol

People keep talking about the National Debt like it matters. It's never going to go down, much less be paid off and that's been true for a while now. Every President has increased the debt and everybody tries to use it as a gotcha point.

To even start making a dent, we'd have to downsize our military, tax working class people at 50% and corporation at 70%, get rid of all social services such as WICC, Welfare, Food Stamps, Section 8 housing etc. Notice I didn't say Social Security, because that's money that has already been paid in by the recipients. You'll pay more in than you'll ever get back.

They are circling the toilet because of their America hating antics.

The Boston mayor and Massachusetts governor got booed out of the the stadium the other day before the Red Sox game.

Nobody is buying what they are shoveling anymore.

That booing must be contagious as it appears it's happening across America

It's not like Trump ever gets booed!!!  Lol  Lol   Lol
And there's dozens more out there.  I can see it only getting worse as he fails at meeting more of his campaign promises.

The National Debt doesn't need to be completely paid off.

But it must be sustainable relative to your gross domestic product.

The real issue is balancing your spending whilst maintaining growth.

As to paying more in than you ever get back, i hear that.

Then again, such is life, and the only thing guaranteed is death and taxes...

Trump just sent me my invoice...

By the end of the day, half of DI will believe this is true

That was one of his big campaigning points in his first run though yea?

As for it not even mattering, says who, why?

Interest payments are going to be the largest federal expenditure in the next few years. That means we’ll spend more on interest than all of those things you listed. How will we pay for everything then? We’ll print it of course, which leads to inflation.

Someone can tell you they’re going to lower your taxes, but that doesn’t lower liability or obligation. And saying it’s impossible to lower doesn’t mean we can just then go spend whatever we want.

It's a dirty, thankless job, but some country/ countries needed to make an effort. Is it perfect?

No, it's flawed as hell, can't trust old allies anymore, Tokyo and Seoul seem like the only ones to count on, but we have some newly motivated ME Gulf allies that could be promising.

ENERGY independence and freedom, and security of commerce. Till we have that, we will have conflicts and wars.

We will likely be fighting and in complete disagreement when a new unknown threat arrives

We could absolutely decrease our spending...but it's gonna hurt.

Without going into half a page of programs to be cut, I'll just say we're fucked no matter what we do.

If thats a dig at the UK, Trump doesn't want our help or assistance.

He's said so on numerous occasions regarding his war.

Whilst disparaging our armed forces, as you well know.

And he is still going...

Energy independence won't stop the price of gas fluctuation, Putnam6, as you plainly see happening at the pumps right now.

Still glad those poor pilots are alive and accounted for all the same.

Good luck with those newly motivated ME Gulf allies.

I mean, they look trustworthy and safe as houses...

You know what will hurt more, spending plus interest.

We can't hide from math. We can't just declare it doesn't matter, or it's too hard so not worth it. Either we pay in pain to reduce it, or we pay in inflation and a weaker dollar plus interest.

But just dismissing it and adding interest to it makes it an exponential problem, one that gets progressively worse year by year. And our spending is going up, not down right now.

Go look up the national debt before the Middle East wars, it was single digit. This problem is younger than most Americans, so I don't see how we make the case that it is unavoidable, always going to happen, and impossible to address. The only case that could be made here is for some American's to say it's not their problem, because the day of reckoning will be past them.
