Trump says he bombed Iran

That's manageable as hell for us...

In the words of the late great Karen Carpenter.

"We've Only Just Begun."

If it doesn't end soon, those prices might not stay that way.

Seems AI is correct sometimes

Quote:In the quiet stillness of a moonlit English churchyard, Winston Churchill's ghost stirred in his grave at Bladon, cigar ash somehow still smoldering in the ether.

Across the Channel, in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, Charles de Gaulle's spectral form sat bolt upright, his towering nose casting a long shadow even in death.

"Winston!" boomed de Gaulle's voice, echoing through the mists as the two old adversaries materialized on a foggy hillside overlooking the white cliffs of Dover.

"Look at what has become of our nations! I told you the British were perfidious shopkeepers, but this... this is farce!"

Churchill, adjusting his spectral bowler with a grunt, took a long pull from his ghostly cigar. "Perfide Albion? My dear General, at least we had the decency to leave the European circus with a proper Brexit—though the chaps in Westminster seem to have turned it into a never-ending tea party with no biscuits left.

High taxes, endless regulations, and politicians who couldn't lead a conga line in a pub.

We've gone from ruling the waves to waving at rules from Brussels we no longer even pretend to follow!

"De Gaulle folded his arms, his Cross of Lorraine flickering like a faulty neon sign.

"And France? Mon Dieu! We who stood alone against the Boche, now we cannot stand alone against our own street protests. Farmers block the roads with tractors, unions strike if the wine is not subsidized enough, and our presidents rotate like a bad carousel—Macron one minute, someone else the next, all while the deficit laughs in our faces. We surrendered to bureaucracy faster than we did to the Germans in '40! At least then we had an excuse.

"Churchill chuckled, a deep rumbling laugh that rattled nearby headstones. "Ah, but the irony, Charles! You always accused me of wanting to keep France weak so Britain could shine.

Now we're both dim bulbs in the same flickering lamp.

Britain imports its own fish and argues about pronouns, while France debates whether to nationalize the baguette or let it go private.

The Empire on which the sun never set now struggles with the sun never rising on a functioning train timetable.

And your Fifth Republic? More like the Fifth Attempt at Not Collapsing."De Gaulle's mustache twitched in ghostly indignation.

"You English with your warm beer and warmer welcomes to anyone with a sob story at the border!

We French at least riot with style—burning cars is our national ballet. But together? We fought Hitler so our grandchildren could argue on the internet about climate targets while China laughs and builds coal plants."

Churchill raised his glass of spectral brandy. "To the old days, when men were men, empires were empires, and the worst thing we had to worry about was each other.

These modern lot couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery—or a vin d'honneur in a vineyard.

"De Gaulle allowed a rare smile. "Perhaps we should haunt them, Winston.

A little poltergeist in Downing Street, a phantom speech from the Élysée balcony.

'Vive la France! But with fewer forms to fill out!'

"They clinked their ethereal glasses as dawn broke.

"God save the King," muttered Churchill.

"And God help the Republic," replied de Gaulle.

Hope all the chatter is right and this is winding down. But I’m seeing mixed reports on the context and translation from the Iranian president. Feels like the euphoria early last week which was followed by a different reality.

Are these bad guys in the room with us now?  Lol

Actually, let me tell you a secret: the bad guys are everywhere. The world is crawling with them.

They're everyone who isn't you.

Let me tell you another secret: they don't think they're the bad guys.

Guess what that makes you, to all those billions of people.

"open the Strait now or we destroy your infrastructure!"

To:

"forget the Strait"

And from:

"Total surrender, regime collapse!"

To:

"A 'workable' regime for Washington"

Like I said, he's off his tits and the rest of the World has to suffer his toddler tantrums.

Quite how his MAGA fundamentalists haven't woken up, I can't fathom.

Must be the famous weave... LoL

But if the 82nd Airborne is still en route or kicking about.

Well Trump has been known to say one thing and then do the complete opposite.

Depends on his hubris what happens next...

Anyhoo, golden ballrooms and all that jazz.   Saint2
