This stuff is crazy bro. And to think so many started off cheering like we were invincible and untouchable. Sure looks like a lot of touching going on, and for some reason things are not indestructible.
YEAH these are a tad over the top... like 90% of them

Please continue to enlighten us to the gigantic US military strategic and tactical missteps and how Iran is stronger now than a few weeks ago.
I am entertained. LoL
The missteps are that we're there in the first place.
No one in this thread is acting like Iran is going to bring down America.
When people say or imply that America is losing a war, it doesn't mean we're going to be conquered... It means that the lives and money spent on a conflict aren't worth the objectives. Speaking of objectives, there is a clear shift on what we are trying to accomplish if you compare the language from the US and Israel at the start to now.
Being hyperbolic in saying people are posting doom porn just because it's a different take than WAPO doesn't change the reality of what's happening.
Again, I implore you to go back in the thread pages 1-60ish and see that very similar language was used against people skeptical of that conflict. Everyone saying that was just the beginning were "panicans" and "hated America". That is nothing new of course, it's recycled talking points from before the Iraq war. You were unpatriotic, didn't support the troops, and a terrorist sympathizer if you spoke out against a war with Iraq. How many soldiers died and have committed suicide since?
I'm of the belief truly supporting the troops means only advocating for wars that are a true imminent national security threat. Not some excursion for foreign entities.

The American military has been pretty good historically at improvising, adapting, and overcoming
America is taking hits, it's war, thats what happens in war
But so far, the losses DO NOT come close to overshadowing the gains, potential gains are tantalizingly close and the potential gains are indeed world-changing.
Some of the intelligent left here with slightly more open minds have pointed out...

You did see where the UAE and Saudi Arabia are now committed allies, UAE pledged 1.5 trillion in investments some will be in the defense sector if not a fair chunk. Congress dropped 200 Billion.
Between USAID, Minnesota, California, and Massachusetts, fraud savings, financially, Uncle Sam is better off with his new Gulf States allies than the penny-pinching, pouty Brits, and the snobbish French

Seems pretty convenient that the people who were wrong along the whole conflict going back to the summer calling people panicans are suddenly the open minded ones and the only intelligence left here.
Most of the predictions wrong all while dunking on people.
Today I learned trusting the government and WAPO is open minded.

I thought a big portion of the justification of this war was liberating people from Islamic dictatorships...
Now some of those very governments are better allies than nations who have fought side by side with our troops on the frontlines?
Seems like quite the stretch.
Edit: over the last ten years, Europe accounted for over 50% of foreign investment in the US to the tune of 3.64 trillion. UAE investmentt is 1.5 over ten years. While sizeable, it's not like it completely overshadows Europe even if we're comparing a group of countries to one.

Seems like quite the stretch.
It appears Saudi and UAE human rights violations are to be overlooked when desperation is the driving force in choosing allies.
"Saudi Arabia is consistently ranked among the world's most authoritarian regimes, with major human rights organizations documenting systematic abuses including arbitrary detention, torture, and unfair trials. Freedom of expression is severely restricted, as the government uses counterterrorism and cybercrime laws to silence dissent, resulting in long prison sentences and executions for peaceful online criticism and association.
Key violations include: - Arbitrary Detention and Torture: Human rights defenders, activists, and migrants are frequently detained without charge, held incommunicado, and subjected to torture to extract confessions for unfair trials.
- Unfair Trials and Executions: The Specialized Criminal Court convicts individuals based on coerced confessions for vague charges like "terrorism," leading to lengthy prison terms and executions for non-lethal offenses, including drug-related crimes and peaceful activism.
- Discrimination and Migrant Abuse: Women continue to face legal discrimination under the male guardianship system, while migrant workers, particularly domestic staff, face forced labor, exploitation, and inhumane detention conditions under the kafala sponsorship system.
- Crackdown on Dissent: The government targets critics both inside and outside the country, including forced evictions of communities (such as the Huwaitat tribe) and transnational repression against exiled dissidents." (LLM)
