The only notable gain Russia has materially is Crimea, when before they were sharing it.
The 2 Eastern oblasts in the Donbass were culturally and ethnically Russian, whatever that means, already so their 'republics' dont really amount to anything either.
One has to ask Why Bojo ruined it all when we could have had peace with Russia having LESS than they have now?
Was the City of London pushing some financial malfeasance?
You can't tell me this whole carnage carnival is just to cover up Western elites corruption and money laundering organ sex trafficking?
What was the proposed deal?

My understanding is that they were still deep into hashing out a deal, and negotiating and before anything could even be agreed upon to sign, that Bojo convinced Ukraine to walk away and not even try:

Quote:The news highlights the impact of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s efforts to stop negotiations, as journalist Branko Marcetic noted on Twitter. The decision to scuttle the deal coincided with Johnson’s April visit to Kyiv, during which he reportedly urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to break off talks with Russia for two key reasons: Putin cannot be negotiated with, and the West isn’t ready for the war to end. THE WEST ISNT READY FOR THE WAR TO END

If that's true, Ukraine could have ignored him?
Mind you, could Putin, with his record, even been trusted?

Either way - Something smelly fishy. Blackmail? Mutual enrichment?

Putin's illegal invasion? After Russia had guaranteed Ukrainian sovereignty and not to invade it?
Trustworthy?

I don't think I have enough personal experience with Zelensky or Putin to label them as dictators or untrustworthy. I just have the news media on both sides telling me that both are bad for various reasons.
What I do have is a desire for discussion between both sides to reach a truce.
So anything that preemptively says 'don't talk, dont agree to a deal' without even bothering to TRY to hash out a deal, is suspicious to me.

But Ukraine will agree to a 30 day ceasefire. Russia won't.
So there you have it.

Only if they get to dictate to Russia how it will be handled. As I showed already they wanted to do a 15km pull back on either side and put peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. There is no way they would be interested in that. On top of calling for things they already know are nonstarters they don't even offer loosening or removal of current sanctions. The offer was a complete loss for Russia and a pause for Ukraine to rearm and get western forces into the country. Do you really think thats a serious proposal for a ceasefire?!?!

Yeah, Russia isn't going to give up territory for a 15km buffer DMZ, Ukraine would have to absorb all 15 km from its territory. Russia holds all territories gained
No peacekeeping troops either, they aren't giving up Crimea either.
Putin is betting Russia can hold out longer than Ukraine, and he is right.
All Ukraine can do is hold on, and every day they lose more men and territory, it's just the reality

Meanwhile the profiteers are loving it. All those shells being manufactured! mmmwah!
Slava ukraini! Cmon guys hold it just a little longer!
You can do it!
Meanwhile I am raking it in selling munitions and getting rid of the working age men.
When it finally ends I can erect Starbucks, Bayer factories, Shell oil platforms, and pump it full of Big Agra chemicals.
All that beautiful black gold dirt to poison and grow GMO wheat on.
Oh and did I mention all the men are gone so all the child-bearing age women are in need of company.
Same thing happening in Russia.
