Unprovoked?
Nope.  Try again.
Russia has been pounding the snot out of Ukraine.
Even after Ukraine agreed to a 30 day ceasefire.

Where is Mr Hanson wrong?

His mind was not for rent to any god or government, always hopeful yet discontent. Knows changes aren't permanent, but change is ....

Would you apply the same logic to WW1?

Or WW2?

Or the UK and other European countries aiding the US in it's War On Terror? What if we had said "Fight your own war in Afghanistan"?

Also you might want to go look at what caused this war and understand the full reasoning behind what happened before going off about it. I think this whole mess has been protracted by the EU and NATO -US. This being said if you want to be sympathetic towards Ukraine, I really hope it's towards the plight of the people there and not that stupid Zelensky Administration.

This war could have been over years ago, but greed, grifting, and EU and NATO trying to power grab is the real problem here.

What "issues"?

"Power grab"?

That's what Putin is doing.

Yes, I am more concerned about the Ukrainian people, rather than it's Administration.

Why do you need to ask?

Doesn't seem that Russia is even interested in the proposed cease fire.

So much for Putin wanting peace.

The recent policy paper that was 'leaked' from Moscow yesterday says quite clearly that they are only considering a "peace" that they can reliably expect to last longer than the current US Presidential administration. To them, that include regime change in Kiev, as well as a buffer zone between Ukraine and the eastern territories, which they are unwilling to give up due to their Russian national affiliation. Problem is, that affects eastern Odessa, which I believe we've already highlighted as a strategic naval sticking-point.

Edit: If you haven't read the paper, it's referenced here. This leak could reasonably be considered Moscow's "response" to Trump's overture.

I would herein insert the recollection that all "leaked" materials presumed to be evidentiary are apriori suspect.

All assertions referenced by unattributed hearsay are equally suspect.

"Reporting" is not equivalent to "investigating."

... or am I being presumptuous?  Cool

Looks like it's going to be tomorrow...

Quote:Russia, US 'yet to agree' on presidential phone call, not expected today

Russia and the United States have yet to agree on a possible phone call between president Vladimir Putin and president Donald Trump, Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said on Thursday, the Interfax news agency reported.

It cited Ushakov as saying that the Kremlin did not expect Putin to talk to Trump on Thursday.

This comes hours after the Kremlin said that “may have an international phone call later” on Thursday.

I just hope that Trump doesn't give Putin everything he wants and then throws his toys out of his pram when Zelensky says no.
