Shots Fired at White House Correspondants Dinner

This is what our POTUS said just after the shooting.

Any rational person would see that as can we get along and not we are coming for your rights.

Trump says a lot of things.

What?  Did he read something written for him and not go off script -- for a change?

Those are not his words -- have you read his all night rants?

There are no calls to take away free speech. NONE. Like I stated earlier, as a white man if I call a person of color a slur or n-word I can go to jail. Jail. But is takes seconds to look online and find 1000's and 1000's of people calling the POTUS Hitler, a fascist, a rapist, a pedo...the list goes on and on. Calling for removal by force. Saying things and then stating you misinterpreted me. Jeffries comes to mind as well as many many other Democratic elected officials. 

This is not something I am making up. Go online. Bluesky is nuts. So is Reddit. Tik-Tok. Late Night TV.

I understand the fear.  But I think that is being a bit melodramatic. I dont think WE'RE the focus. 

I think he's going to try to leverage this for greater control over national media opinion. Broaden what is considered "hate speech and incitment of violence" possibly to anything overly negative, ask for too much, and then go get stuck in the courts after all the constitutional challenges to it. 

Any media companies he may go after could use the same defense if their first amendment liberties are challenged.  Everything the left said, all nasty elitest tones they used, has an archived analog on the right to use as evidence of double standards.  

The checks and balances are still in place.
The constitution is still the law. 

You'd have to enforce outright mindfucked hypocrisy in the largest glass house of stones ever to go after the vitriol of left-leaning media. Especially with EVERYONES track record so accessible.

When media gets reigned in, the effects trickle down to us

Trump's cronies are successfully buying up the majority of media which gives them a monopoly over information

The only surprise is him staying on script.

Conservatives want the focus to be on Democrat hate so they can exploit this crisis in order to suppress "hate" speech in America 

But Trump is not special, he's not getting singled out or picked on

All Presidents serve under the threat of assassination, it comes with the territory 

Maybe the reason why Trump has so many close calls compared to other Presidents is because his security is piss poor
