There are already federal laws against threatening to kill or inflict bodily harm on the President
Enforce the laws already in place

But I do 100% believe Trump is shielding pedophiles in powerful positions
If he's protecting criminals, that makes him a criminal so I may as well just call him a pedo, too. right?
The things I say could be considered 'influential'
Just as the thousands of people online calling Trump a fascist, racist, rapist, pedo, etc...can be considered influential
You mentioned how you, yourself can be jailed for saying the N word, yet you're not calling for any kind of censureship for anti-Trump rhetoric?
You're arguing that the speech against Trump incites violence as we just witnessed
Obviously, you want something done
Anti Trump rhetoric and calling for him to be taken out are two different things. Trump says dumb shit and I can admit it. What I want done is to stop the hate.

I agree. That’s fair.
However. Some of the stuff Trump says is beyond the pale whenever someone or thing vexes him to the point he puts them in proverbial crosshairs. It can go way beyond dumb shit.

Why?
Trump loves being hated, he thrives on it
He loves being inflammatory and abrasive and pissing people off
He says stupid things and he trolls and ragebaits all day long
It's how he entertains himself
It entertains you, too

You can't stop hate speech nor should anyone, any government police hate speech.
Hate speech is why the 1st Amendment was written.
Simply because "nice" speech never needs protection.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

It’s a good point. Expanding a bit further it seems that he’s been this way well before he was near the WH. Which means the speculator in me thinks America has a kink for hateful speech.
And it’s only divisive or derisive if it goes against one’s political grain.
Trump has a long history of not only saying but acting in ways that are unbecoming of any politician or head of state. So for those calling for the end of “hate speech” (whatever that is here), I’d suggest Trump lead by example and pretend to be someone else for a bit.
Everyone from his political opponents, women, illegal immigrants, our allies: no one is exempt from Trump’s wrath. We seem to be enamored and empowered by that. Which is kinda sad.
Because yeah, the Left needs to check itself. Yet, the laundry list of decades of Trump quotes that are downright mean, cruel, or meant to incite even is vast. And no this isn’t a vain attempt to say he deserves it. Just ain’t my style.

Trump has no filter, he wasn't elected in spite of that, he was elected because of it
Does that mean he deserves to be killed? Of course not and anyone making threats needs to be held accountable
What's concerning is that after a shooting or bombing or mass casualty event, etc...government always takes advantage of the situation to attack the 1st & 2nd amendments. Both Democrats and Republicans do it
Social media is already censored. If you're on YouTube, X, Facebook or other big platforms, you know the tactics they use to suppress speech. The advent of AI has made it even worse
Now imagine if your online speech dictates access to your bank account or your ability to spend money, pay bills, be employed, etc...
Because that AI agentic surveillance technology is coming sooner than people realize
If we become powerless to criticize our own government, we're nothing

Yeah I agree with all of that wholeheartedly.
Already in China, tens of thousands of people are outta work and a life as we know it for not “making the grade” with respect to a social credit score.
Im just glad I grew up when I did, was a kid when I was. Others will be luckier. They won’t know what they were missing. And we all know you can’t miss what ya ain’t ever had.
