"The US special envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, on Thursday warned Lebanese group Hezbollah against getting involved in the war between its main backer Iran and Israel, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reports.Barrack, who is also the US ambassador to Turkey, is on his first visit to Beirut, where he met top Lebanese officials including parliament speaker Nabih Berri, an ally of Hezbollah.
“I can say on behalf of President (Donald) Trump … that would be a very, very, very bad decision,” Barrack said after his meeting with Berri, responding to a question on what the US position would be on any involvement by Lebanese armed group Hezbollah in the war.
The group condemned Israel’s strikes on Iran when the conflict erupted on Friday, but did not announce its intention to intervene in support of Tehran.
Hezbollah suffered devastating losses in its war against Israel last year, which ended with a ceasefire agreement in November.
Despite the ongoing ceasefire, Israel has repeatedly attacked Lebanon, saying it would continue to strike the country until Hezbollah was disarmed.
An Israeli strike on Kfar Juz, south Lebanon, killed two people on Wednesday, while another strike injured one person in Barish, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
Israel said it killed two Hezbollah members in its attacks." https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...ab30659a3d

Blimey! Some in the Israeli parliament would love that. Maybe israel is going for broke here and Greater Israel is on the cards. On the radio earlier they said the food distribution centres in Gaza are now in the very south, so as to concentrate the Gazan's down there and allow Israel to redevelop the north. So much going on right now over there. No idea what's going down in Judea and Samaria. An Israeli Arab was on tv over here the other day saying how the Iranian attacks were having the effect of uniting Muslim, Christian and Jews in Israel. The Israeli arabs feeling being under attack too, not just the other segments of Israel. How Arab Israeli's now felt a desire to actually fight for Israel in defence of their homeland being under attack from Iran. The world's going topsy turvey upside down, maybe an effect of all this war will be unity within Israel of all the modern day tribes which live there.

"The Next North Korea? Lessons for Addressing Iran's Nuclear Program"
The Next North Korea? Lessons for Addressing Iran's Nuclear Program | Iran Watch
Why not handle Iran as North Korea was handled, or not handled?
"More generally, when disagreements with a would-be proliferator arise during diplomatic exchanges, it is usually better for the United States and its partners to stay engaged than it is to walk away. This does not mean that any diplomatic agreement is better than no agreement, nor did the panelists endorse talks for the sake of talks. Rather, the panel found that serious and sustained diplomatic engagement and a willingness to consider compromise, while not acquiescing in any bad deals, will still often yield better results than a "my way or the highway" approach."
With Trump, it's my way or the highway.

WMD?
Now, when have we heard this before as an excuse for a War?
Where is the evidence this time?

Exactly, why wasn't North Korea treated exactly the same as Iran is being treated now?

Tulsi G doesn't seem to think there is any and she should know.

Some bloke on the radio was on about it. Shipped the good stuff out to Syria I think if the memory is working. Doesn't exactly tick the boxes for fact but when one considers Saddam was cash rich and was importing all sorts of equipment and industrial equipment, surely he'd have been going down the route of WMD. They all went down that route, Iraq / Osiraq original WMD before the later one, Syria developing WMD which again got taken out, Iran now developing WMD for weaponry underneath this big mountain (and maybe others too) well they all have a go at WMD out there, including Israel too who has kak loads of it of every type, so the rumour gos. No reason to believe any of them haven't had a go at WMD at some point, Iraq certainly was in the running pre Osiraq and looks like it was in the late 80's early 90's before Gulf War broke out. They just can't help themselves out there when it comes to having a go at sourcing or developing WMD

I'd like a bit more evidence than some bloke on the radio or rumours before kicking off another War in the ME.

"MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russia remains ready to act as a mediator in the conflict between Israel and Iran, and Moscow's previous proposal to store Iranian uranium in Russia remains on the table, the Kremlin said on Monday.
Tehran says it has the right to peaceful nuclear power, but its swiftly-advancing uranium enrichment programme has raised fears in the wider West and across the Gulf that it wants to develop a nuclear weapon."
Russia is ready to mediate on Iran, and to accept Tehran's uranium, Kremlin says
Putin is getting involved no matter what Trump says to warn him off.
