I know this is treason but I've never been a James Bond fan. Perhaps I should have read the novellas but I've always been indifferent to the film adaptations.
Patrick McGoohan as John Drake in Danger Man is another matter however. I'm a huge fan of this series.

Peter Sellers, David Niven, Urserla Andress, Woody Allen, Joanna Petite, Barbara Bouchet, Daliah Lavi and Terrence Cooper. All 007. All in one movie. I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance? Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

George Lazenby
The first great Bond

I've never been a big fan of the films but in my opinion Connery was better than Moore by a long shot and Daniel Craig brings Bond a bit more up to date and makes him a little more relevant. Dr Who was something to scare the kids, some watched it from behind the sofa/couch. I was a big Tom Baker fan as a child, really enjoyed it! It's in the same bracket as the original Star Trek (which I loved too), a little sci-fi for the family to watch all together. Don't know about the nationalism/patriotism? But it's hard to see those kinds of things from the inside, sometimes a person has a clearer few when looking from the outside in?? Dips his wick in the company ink. And the problem is?? And wears a suit and tie while running around killing bad guys. And the problem is??? Man with the Golden Gun is a good one...probably Moore's best IMO. On Her Majesty's Secret Service with George Lazenby is my favorite. Thunderball and You Only Live Twice with Sean Connery are good. Skyfall with Daniel Craig is also a good one. It must be a guy thing FF...

It was made in 1974 and has become very dated, was never a big fan of 007 and those movies were overhyped for a male audience Considering how movies were made, being English for it’s day it was considered special Flemming the author served in British intelligence WW2, so that made the stories a little more intriguing I guess Still, thought those Tom Cruises Mission Impossible movies were same old same Roger Moore, worst ever Bond, so yeah pffft (12-10-2025, 07:32 AM)Roma Wrote: The dude is ****y. Reddit talking about it with picture from scene. HERE From Google AI Assist - The phrase "man with golden gun hits women" likely refers to Francisco Scaramanga, the villain in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), a notorious assassin using a golden pistol, but the "hitting women" aspect might relate to Bond (Roger Moore) slapping a female character (Andrea Anders, played by Maud Adams) for information, a scene noted as controversial and uncomfortable even at the time. Scaramanga is the actual "Man with the Golden Gun," a flamboyant hitman who mirrors Bond, while the violence against women (by both Bond and Scaramanga's sidekick Nick Nack) reflects the film's darker themes and character dynamics. |
