I finally saw a James Bond movie

I am a lifelong fan of the James Bond films. I regard The Man With the Golden Gun as the worst Bond film. It is a terrible watch for someone new to the Bond films.

Otherwise, Timothy Dalton's portrayal of Bond is grossly underrated. Roger Moore was let down by the writers of the James Bond films, leaving him with some of the weaker instalments in the series.

Never saw one before.
Don't plan on seeing another one.

Honestly ... what's the big draw for James Bond?
The dude is ****y.   Hits women.
Revolving bed ... sleeps with anything that moves.
Dips his wick in the company ink.
And wears a suit and tie while running around killing bad guys.
Lame.

I don't get it.  What's the draw?

Whah...
You finally watched your first Bond movie?
Welcome to the conversation... the rest of us started around age 12.

One Bond movie and you’re out?
That’s like going to you're first concert and deciding live music is overrated.  Lol

The dude slapped around a woman and then slept with her.
He screwed his co-worker who childishly adored him.
Taking advantage of her.
He went from woman to woman to woman, boinking and moving on.
Wearing a suit and tie while engaging in action hero stunts.
That was so ridiculous.

No morals and self indulgent.
He was a total turn off.

So the world’s greatest fictional spy should be… humble, celibate, and wearing sweatpants?

haha good luck with that...  Lol

If he wants to be admired he should not be hitting women and then bedding them
and then moving on within minutes to the next temporary conquest,
that would be a good start.

I don't get the attraction to this being a super hero.

But as was said before ...  I'm not the target audience.
I'm an American woman and I have morals.
(and I know what is 'cool' ... a suit and tie while
running around doing what he does isn't cool)

Ah, got it... you’re coming at it from a different angle. I’m an American man, so maybe we grew up with different film icons. Have you ever watched Clint Eastwood movies like High Plains Drifter? If you think Bond is morally questionable, that movie would probably be a whole different level for you.   Spin

Bond isn’t meant to be a superhero. He’s a movie spy with a suit and a mojo amount of trauma. People admire him the same way they admire pirates, rock stars, or gangsters on the screen.

Roger Moore was a great Bond.  Think of the name.... Spin

I read the original books.  Didn't like them.

Fleming's Bond was an alcoholic misogynist.

Scaramanga:  "Come, come, Mr Bond.  You take as much pleasure in killing as do I".

Bond: "When I kill it's for Queen and Country.  But I will admit that killing you would be a pleasure".

Fun fact:  Blofeld was named after Fleming's school bully.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

What do you mean? "Roger" is what they say on the radio to mean "okay" and acknowledge a message. So, "Roger Moore" means someone who is acknowledged as more okay than any other actor/spy!

LOL, I'm sorry but I can't stop laughing.  1974 James Bond offends woman in 2025.  Who would've thought?

No, he's definitely not the wholesome sort, is he?

Lol   Yeah, there is that, isn't there?
What men thought was cool 50 years ago is repugnant now.
