Ghostbusters . . . . . . . the chick movie
#1
It came out a few years ago.

Got totally panned.

Critics hated it, people called it woke and stupid.

I just watched it.

It may not be "Shut Up and Watch It" worthy, but it was a fun movie.

I was amused.

It had a good story arc.

I guess the message is, don't listen to critics, experts, and make up your own mind.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

It was atrocious, the acting was pitiful, stupid tropes, wasted part of my life on half that movie
The original was obviously something new a fresh, the 80s were more about entertainment than preaching woke messages at people
Each to their own but hollywood is not the money maker they once were

I remember when a friend and I use to go to all the City plays back in the 70's and 80's and all she would do was criticize until I finally said "Why not just let yourself be entertained?", then she did.

I didn't really enjoy it, but it wasn't the abysmal mess many had claimed. It had a few funny moments.

The problem with a lot of these 'blockbuster' movies is they make a ton of money, so the studio has to keep redoing them.
Movies like Ghostbusters, Terminator, Superman, and so on, have a very large fan base so large income. So the studio has to come up with a 'fresh' way of feeding us the same movie. A new twist or take on the original film, a gender swap of characters or a 'better' understanding of the original book or play, or the reboot!

I did not absolutely hate it.

But not a patch on the first two movies.

That might just be rose-colored spectacles on my part, all the same, and a penchant for the 80s.

"I aint afraid of no ghost"

That's apt to be stuck in my head for days now.  Spin
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

There are the first two good ones and the newest two good ones. That one is considered the one that shall not be mentioned by some.

It has some humor but suffers mostly form bad writing. They tried too hard to repeat the success of the original and missed.

Much like the latest Star Trek movies. They try to be Star Trek but miss. You need writers that are fans of the originals and not just trying to change it.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?
