Good Horror Films.

The trailer for 28 Days Later is great. I love the guy singing. It makes it feel really creepy. You can't go wrong with Danny Boyle.

Side note: did you get the pm I sent last month. It was before you were offline for a while.
My mind is open to all possibilities. But one thing is certain: they're hiding something.

Hey mate thanks for the post and I will check my messages (it's bedlam here at the mo) - this looks like a truly great film and I completely agree with Raptured that it's going to be 'epic'.

Bring it on lol.

I didn't post this one cuz it's not as great as the ones I shared months ago but It's really good, and I always love the Irish Film Institute / Screen Ireland stuff.
IMDB gives it a 6; I give it a 7.5. Horror films always get lower reviews.
Vivarium A young couple looking for the perfect home find themselves trapped in a mysterious labyrinth-like neighborhood of identical houses.

A lot of good ones mentioned here.  Some quick thoughts...

Alien is one of the scariest movies of all time.

Kubrick's The Shining is good but doesn't come close to the book.  Bonus points if you were aware that there's a lot of easter eggs that point to his admittance of filming the moon landing.

Vincent Price, Hammer films and the original B&W Universal films all deserve a spot in the horror hall of fame.

And lastly, a corny soap opera released a movie in the theaters in 1970.  No one expected it to scare the daylights out of them:

Seems like an ozzie version of like texas chainsaw maybe. Not a huge thriller/ slasher fan cuz of the lack of depth but I may give it a go.

Did you see Ils/ them? Frenchy thrillerslasher thing

Wolf Creek is amazing. Very visceral and hard to watch at times. Very very well done movie. The sequels and the series leaned too much into the shlock and didn't take itself seriously enough in my opinion.

"Them" was good, but I didn't enjoy the 'twist' at the end personally

I've been religiously watching horror movies since I was a little kid. I think part of it was that it gave me some sense of control over my fear when I was young. I used to be a very scared child. Now I watch them to try to find something that can actually create some sort of emotional response. It's very very rare that I see anything anymore that gets to me in any way at all.  I'd say the last time that happened was at the beginning of The Night Eats The World. There's a scene at the beginning where the main character wakes up in the morning in a house where there was a massive party the night before and he finds that the house is deserted and everything is destroyed. He walks through the house to the front door and opens it to find a couple of people standing at the front steps looking kinda funny and he says something, only to have those people instinctually respond by trying to eat him and he can see that they're all messed up. Their animalistic response to his voice really messed with me, to the point that I had to take a moment and pause the moment and reflect on what I'd seen. Easily the most realistic moment in a zombie movie that I think I've ever seen.

All that said, I wish horror movies and just movies in general were better these days. Everything is so overdone.
