The shit is going to get real.  The evil left doesn't have a platform to run on, they want to tear it all down

Second, why would I protest him? One of the main reasons I voted for him was to rid this country of criminal illegals.

Next.

Exactly...

The LA protest today was about 800 people, and it's a lot less than that now, and it's dispersing we are making more than this than it should be

I think you're right.

The left got cocky from Bill and Obama, and thought they just had everything in the bag. Problem was both of those presidents were absolute ass. Someone could try and make the point that Bill had the only surplus in recent history, but that was tricks with loans and interest to make the books look better.

Then they followed with Hillary, Biden, and Harris. Three people that no one had any organic support for, it was just to counter the other option.

I agree with you on that point. But to me, both sides look like they're playing contrarian to a degree they don't care about the means to "win". I think that is dangerous for both sides to engage with, and it almost feels like a hostage situation for anyone who think's they're both bad.

Anyone I've talked to in good faith will ultimately walk back to they're supporting the lesser of two evils. Very rarely will I talk to anyone who will actually say they fully back what is going on with their party. Obviously that's hard to encounter on the internet, but if you build a relationship with someone in real life, and show you're not just trying to stir the pot, usually you can get them to be honest.

Even if you agree with what Trump is doing, I just hope you realize that the precedent is being set, and the Supreme Court decision that nothing the President does can be viewed as criminal will be in the backs of the minds of anyone to sit at the desk. We saw rampant corruption and abuse of power before that decision. And right now Trump is taking full advantage of his executive power. And while you may agree with it, eventually an opponent will win. What will they do?

I'm looking forward to Elon's political party.

I've always tried to be honest about Musk, but damn it's been hard.

Tesla was a huge gamble, and while I'd never push EV on the masses because we don't even have the infrastructure to support it... Performance wise they're superior. Fast acceleration, and far more control since the motors are at the wheel. I don't buy into the "we have to fight global warming to save the planet" narrative, I do see the national security benefit of having a viable energy alternative to transportation. Even if it's just a supplement.

But really, his gift to this country is SpaceX. Most don't remember we were relying on Russian rockets for our space program while Nasa was dilapidating away. And now the US is back on top for everything Space.

That said, Musk shares the same problem as most politicians, he's not an idealist, but rather an opportunist. Some say that can work in everyone's benefit, but I think that would be an anomaly to the rule. To me, it merely normalizes the behavior by declaring even the "outsiders" do it.

But if he can snag Massie, and Paul actually spearheading the party, I'd roll the dice on it a few times before R or D. If he could take a back seat, and let them drive it (big doubt), I might even dare say I'd support it until I get burned.
I don't what's happened to this thread, don't really want to read it either. My last comment was like 15 pages back, and I think it was mostly irritated LA gave The High and Exalted Troll a reason to do what he does best. Hold another circus and bring some hammer down.

Culture of freaking hammers this guy brings.

But the new normal is that Trump will deport like a heartless ass, exalt cultural xenophobia, and deploy the military to protect his right to be a heartless ass.

We can't do anything but come together, I guess.

So welcome, Dodgers fans, to our riot and National Guard free city. Let's have a great series, if you'll notice, nobody has to guard our federal complex yet.

And let the courts take care of it if they can.
Quote:Court action: California has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, asking a judge to declare the callup of National Guard troops in response to street protests in Los Angeles unconstitutional and for the cocourt to halt any future deployments.

Worth a shot, right? It's about the only option. Appeal to the Courts again. Nice and civil-ish.

This was not even on par with a Lakers riot or even the recent Eagles riot before they called in the heavies. They burn more for sport championships. And are only fighting more because the President is deliberately provoking them. He wants unrest. They want to give it too him. Symbiosis.

But, whatever. Everyone can be distracted by martyrdom of xenophobic righteousness now.

Or vote us off the island if you want??? That would actually be better for everyone!

Realize your Reagan-era republican California died with The Dead Kennedys' relevance and California Uber Alles hath taken over from Jerry Brown, through President Newsom.

There'd be an even greater mass-exodus, yes, but also a mass influx. And tons of immigrants.

So just hold a national vote to let the important parts of California secede and leave you alone forever. You can have the peripheral counties.  Like, America can have Humbolt, Shasta, Mono, and like Death Valley and shit, but we get the Coastal Areas and the Central Valley. Screw Fresno if they don't like it.

Please!? We can become the new dream mecca, you don't want the tired huddled masses anymore, but well take them, we can establish our own Ellis Island at Otay Mesa, buy the statue of liberty off you, and try to do 1.5 million a year. Immigrant population booms always help growth!

Think about it. You don't have to care about us poisoning your minds anymore and we don't have to be part of a hate culture. Everyone wins.

I'll gladly vote for California to be sealed shut with millions of criminal illegals shitting on the sidewalks.

How many will you let move in with you?
As many as possible?

Worked out well for my county. We grew by 0.4% primarily due to the CBP dropping them off at the train station all year. Without them we probably would have lost population again..

Asking google...
Quote:Yes, San Diego did see a net population increase in 2024, partially attributed to international migration, including both legal and undocumented immigrants.

The U.S. Census Bureau data reveals a net gain of 24,226 immigrants, which played a crucial role in offsetting the loss of residents due to domestic migration.

Asking Google about local crime...
Quote:Yes, according to data released by city officials, San Diego experienced a decrease in every violent crime category in 2024

So why not, immigrants are safer to live next to than the people born here anyway. And it was already safe, but if they're influence is so lawless, why does it get even safer when the replace the natives?

Asking Google again.

Hilarious and quite frankly, delusional.

Why does everyone on the Left have a problem with the laws of this country being enforced?

Then the system has to be reformed. We have to make more efficient VISA's and bolster E-Verify.

If anyone actually cared, they'd do things the right way, but alas, it's just another culture war issue both sides use for their political gain.

Yes, the country would take a massive hit if all of them magically were gone. Most service sectors would take years to bounce back, and prices would go crazy for those industries. That's the sad truth, a lot of illegals are cheap labor, something both sides exploit.

Just "protecting" their presence does little to nothing. Their country lost them, and they're exploited on their journey here, as well as once they are here. You think someone from Honduras is going to report unsafe working conditions or sexual harassment? Not a chance.

I've already voiced my criticisms for the means in "addressing" this. I find some of them abuse of executive power. But that doesn't steal the complicity of all those that allowed this to happen before now.
