The Trump administration initially said 2,000 national guard members were being sent to LA, but the California governor, Gavin Newsom, said late on Monday he had been informed federal officials were sending an additional 2,000 troops, though he said only 300 had been deployed so far, with the remainder “sitting, unused, in federal buildings without orders”. The addition of roughly 700 marines, too, marks an exceptionally rare mobilization of the US military targeting people domestically.

ICE's operation in Los Angeles began with the serving of arrest warrants to employees of some company that was laundering money for the cartels. This is when they were first attacked by morons that had no idea what ICE was doing.
Those arrests were not "simply" illegal aliens, some were citizens. Legitimate arrests, with legitimate judicial warrants.
In other LA operations (so far,) ICE nabbed a pedophile and a handful of murderers, along with anyone illegal that they found with them, exactly as Homan had warned.
Funny how the media doesn't tell you about what ICE was doing. They want to act like they were just arbitrarily sweeping people up and seeing if they caught any illegals.
There's nothing arbitrary about it. Law enforcement officers are going after known criminals and enforcing the law. The rabble isn't informed about it and refuses to be informed about it.
The whole thing lands in the laps of California politicians that set this whole thing up by announcing their "sanctuary city" virtue signal, and in the laps of the mainstream media for not even mentioning what ICE is doing there.
The fact that the ICE agents had legitimate arrest (and search) warrants in hand but were attacked anyway pretty much proves that a lot of these protestors are just paid actor thugs.

Well what do you expect with a broken immigration process and it's still broken, right?

If immigrants deserving of refugee citizenship weren't waiting unreasonable amounts of time, then ICE wouldn't have to raid factories, farms, schools, Home Depot, etc. now would they?

Of course the system needs reforming. Rapid asylum was what I liked. Towards that road. Instill a system of making it so fast nobody cheats anymore. Require they come with a completed verifyable E-background check you set up for them to complete before arrival. Make them have proof of this before they wait in line 13 hours, and get granted a temporary stay until the court date or something.  

Devote the resources towards processing the 99% that are worthy (and so many would be) and save the oppressive  border infrastructure and little ICE boys with intimidating automatic rifles.  

Growth doesn't usually hurt an economy, even foreigners. They'll take out loans and open businesses, and fuel positive growth. Like they always do. 

I don't get the myopic image of "dole-bludgers" as my friend from Perth would say. Like they come here solely to breed and bilk welfare. I thought we moved beyond that white power based propaganda as a society. Guess it's en vouge again. 

I am not getting my land port Ellis Island. At least any time before 2028. 

I actually mean this now, before it was still a joke. I'll take any American politician on Trump's enemies list at this point.
