"Wonder why press happy to report police statement, perp race and age?"
I would imagine that was to defuse tensions. And so there was not false information spread which could have led to widespread violence across the nation. Just like what happened with the horrendous Southport attack last year.

I wasnt aware the UK was so on edge and tense.
My first thought when it appeared on X.com was that it was going to be a Palestinian support march, until I saw the colors and realized it was soccer-related. So many people, this could have been worse, a lot worse.

A reporter an hour after the incident had said that police had starting lifting restrictions for car access allowing vehicles onto the roads. In the first video of the car before it starts hitting people, it almost appears as if the driver was trying to get past the crowd and people started attacking his car and opened his door, causing him to speed off, then the next videos are him hitting people??
But it was difficult to understand why he was attempting to drive amongst the crowd other than to cause chaos? "Denial is a common tactic that substitutes deliberate ignorance for thoughtful planning."

"So many people, this could have been worse, a lot worse."
Looking at the first two poor sods he knocked down and up into the air like skittles im supprised there were no fatalities. Guess that's the difference between 20 and 40 mph. So thank god for small mercies i suppose, and i tend to agree, it could have been a lot worse. That being said, injuring 47 people, 4 of whom appear to be children, and hospitalising 27 others with 4 reported to be in critical condition is not exactly small potatoes. As to the motivations behind the incident, i suppose that remains to be determined or released.

Could he have somehow turned down the wrong street and simply panicked? Not that it would condone his actions all the same. Guess there will be CCTV that might shine some light as to his reason for him being there or the why/how of it all. Edit: by the looks of it, he's been charged with driving under the influence of drugs and attempted murder. https://www.thenational.scot/news/nation...g-driving/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...child.html

From a few new articles as well as those you've posted Andy, it does appear as if he followed an ambulance after the police allowed it through the cordons for a heart attack victim.
Was he lost, off his head and ended up causing the carnage? What ever it is, I'm sure they're going to throw the book at him. "Denial is a common tactic that substitutes deliberate ignorance for thoughtful planning."

First the police said he was local to Liverpool. Tonight he's from South Derbyshire!

My comment was on the apparent need for various groups of people with religious beliefs trying to force their belief on a other religious group. And you know full well what I meant |
