Cameron County, Texas residents voted 212-6 to make Starbase an official city in Texas. Starbase is, of course, home to Elon Musk's Space X launch facility. Musk earlier had announced the expected move of company HQ from California to Starbase in the near future.
A few years back, I was in the area and had scheduled a drive out to this area. We were stopped by a roadblock before we could get there and told some testing was going on and so the area was closed to the public. We went to South Padre Island instead as you can view launches from there and in case that's what was happening we wanted to watch. Didn't see a thing.
