Just got home from work and wondered how many on here would be against the removal of a drug running president that destroyed the country to the point their currency is valueless and oppressed his people to the point of not having basic necessities to live a normal life.

Trump just gave the Venezuelan people a chance to fix their country and reap the rewards of an oil based economy.

Maduro was a bad man.

But it is Trump and US oil that will be reaping the rewards as the US will be running the Country.

That’s why all these monocausal theories reducing it to a single reason are pretty dumb.
This isn’t just about human rights, or Venezuela’s oil, or narco-terrorism, or the New York indictment, or democracy, or projecting U.S. strength, or China, or decoupling from Russia, or any of the other explanations floating around.
It’s about ALL of them at once.
That’s the beauty of it.
Everything just happened to line up, creating a rare situation where you have no choice but to act.

In theory Mamdani could release Maduro because he says he follows international law over US law.

I don't see how.  Maduro is in federal custody.  The Mayor of New York has nothing to do with this.
