I think that was a strategic move by Trump to downplay her in this moment.
If he goes all in publically for her then he essentially puts her right in the crosshairs and she’d be in grave danger.

I mean, if that's what the people want or wish, so be it.
 
I don't really know that much about the man yet.
 
But I don't imagine he'll be in touch with their needs, any more than any other pensioner politician.
 
He may however, fit right in with some of the people Trump will wish to surround him with.

And/or be more inclined to facilitate their wishes first.

As to how dare they, im sure Trump can answer that question far better than i can, after all, he does "actual words" so well. 

If "True, American oil" rebuilds the Venezuelan petroleum industry at great expense, it will be for "True, American oil companies", not the poor Venezuelan people.

Venezuela's heavy crude is capital-intensive to produce.

People typically figure the US is getting involved to ensure the flow of oil, but can it be the other way around?

Can it be various elements in the government, working for various administrations, perceived an interest in crippling the nation's oil income, perhaps so they would turn to greater drug production and trafficking?
