If he goes all in publically for her then he essentially puts her right in the crosshairs and she’d be in grave danger.

Oh, he's playing 5-D chess im sure.

Or it could just be that she stole his Nobel Peace Prize.

And he does not wish to see a Woman in control, that he can't completely control.

As to grave danger, see MTG about that sort of thing.

After some of the phone calls and threats shes receved simply because she chose not to toe the party line and go against Trump.

I would not bet on that.

Thing is, and by the looks of it, Venezuelans may have to do just that.

Im apt to ponder it will end in tears.

Poor people's tears, that is.

Whilst the oil companies and their subsidiaries rake in the cash.

The Venezuelan government and military are chock full of Maduro loyalists who would have a bullet in her head immediately if they thought it was her turn.
Trump would have done no favors for her or Venezuelans by backing her now.
Say what you want about Trump but his advisors are strategic thinkers and this operation went pretty damn good, including the aftermath.

Im apt to ponder it will be Trump and 12 other angry men or thereabouts.

They are never going to leave once they get a foot in the door if you ask me.

I know a lot of people are talking about Maria, but she has already come out to recommend Edmundo González Urrutia. He was the presumed winner of the last election.

Your special forces are some of the best in the world Vermilion, so...

I won't argue the Op seems to have gone off without a hitch, impressive even, given the caliber of some other nations ""special military operations.""

As to Trump's advisors being strategic thinkers, who do you have in mind?

Yep mean old Fox did the Presidential press briefing without some democrat mouth piece interpreting the English words for you and putting some TDS slant on what is actually being said.
How dare they just broadcast the actual words being said.. ?????????????????????????????????? [Image: helpsos.gif]

By the looks of it, he's 76.

I mean, if that's what the people want or wish, so be it.

I don't really know that much about the man yet.

But I don't imagine he'll be in touch with their needs, any more than any other pensioner politician.

He may however, fit right in with some of the people Trump will wish to surround him with.

And/or be more inclined to facilitate their wishes first.

Old Fox, how so?

More like the same old Fox.

And what is this about English words now. LoL

I don't understand many others, if I im honest.

Are you in a different boat?

As to how dare they, im sure Trump can answer that question far better than i can, after all, he does "actual words" so well. Saint2

If "True, American oil" rebuilds the Venezuelan petroleum industry at great expense, it will be for "True, American oil companies", not the poor Venezuelan people.

To think otherwise is rather naive.

Venezuela's heavy crude is capital-intensive to produce.

People typically figure the US is getting involved to ensure the flow of oil, but can it be the other way around?

Can it be various elements in the government, working for various administrations, perceived an interest in crippling the nation's oil income, perhaps so they would turn to greater drug production and trafficking?

Easys drug availability helps enslave young people and brings money into inner-city areas.  It strengthens the revolution.
