Recorded history perfectly illustrates that fact.

But that does not prove a religious or ethnic group "rules the world."

They don't "rule the world" far from it, indeed it's much diminished from decades ago, yet their influence over USA foreign policy is real, exists and is very powerful. That's all really. As that is combined with all the other factors that have led us to the SMO going on right now with Iran. You can't kill hundreds of US Marines etc and expect to get away with it forever. You can't keep plotting to engage in terror activities around the planet and not get on the wrong side of the worlds policeman. You can not try and take over nations like Lebanon, Syria etc by using proxies and expect to get away with it forever. The worlds policeman will be on to you at some point. You can't expect that the Gulf itself, absolutely rammed with military hardware will stay peaceful and no clash will happen, be it planned or accidental. So many reasons we are, where we are Andy.

The problem being your "world's policeman" routine is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

The US isn't some cosmic sheriff with a badge and a perfect record, Orby.

It's a country with interests, allies, and a very long list of problems just like many another nation around the globe.

Iran has done plenty of harmful things, but pretending every conflict is simply "good cop vs bad guy" is childish.

Nations don't invade or sanction each other because morality suddenly appeared.

They do it because of power and resources.

Well I have no idea what you are going to do about stopping it! Because people like you and me don't count, what we gonna do? Protest?
