US-Iran War Mudpit Thread

We have plenty of recent history to go off of. The same history we all agreed on ATS was detrimental to our nation. Yet here we are, doing the same. Exact. Things.

Then join the anti-American crowd.

You're either for winning against Iran or Iran winning.

Choose.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Sure you don't want a fatwa against us?

 Biggrin

I am a Caucasian Australian citizen, resident in New Zealand, and am a born-again Pentecostal Christian, not a follower of Islam.

I'm very sure I don't want 'a legal ruling on a point of Islamic law given by a qualified Islamic jurist in response to a question posed by a private individual, judge or government', against you or those that you believe are 'with you'.

Every post is a cry fest, TRUMB TRUMB TRUMB TRUMB TRUMB.

Quite sad really.

Trumb called Democratic Party members "dumbocrats". Turnabout is fair play.

My dad had a time machine. But he retired and has since passed. Besides. they aren't that useful any more, with the new technology.

Nor do I think that makes us any better than them. If we are saying it's horrible how they treat their women and citizens, I don't see how killing hundreds of thousands, or millions would be better.

It's a valid point, but you can't deny the effect of dropping a nuke all over a country would have on whatever leadership that country has, then you have the shutting down of any country that might open their mouth about it. 1

In the end it doesn't matter what you want or think, the fact is if the US really wanted to, this war is a non-issue after the whole of Iran is pounded into dust or glass.

This war isn’t existential to us, that’s why I don’t think we should take the gloves off.

The whole reason Trump got elected was because establishment politicians continually sold out to the interests of the elites which gave rise to a populist movement. Americans were tired of struggling in the richest country the world has ever seen while people profited off our mismanagement.

I fail to see how starting another war that again is not existential helps that position.

I think we should ask ourselves, what is a more realistic danger to most Americans… is it the existence of Iran in its current form, or is it the new reality first time homebuyers are average age of 40?

How do we continue if young people simply can’t afford to start a family in a system where the whole gamble is growth to pay off the debt and sustain our monetary system?

If this war was existential with let’s say China, I think that answer is easy, we fight to survive. If we’re talking about a war of what boils down to the ego of a super power trying to dictate our agenda in a region that doesn’t concern a majority of Americans…. I think it’s easy to say I’m far more concerned about other problem problems affecting our nation than Iran.
