I can trim five years off. My first trip to Israel was 1989, a 10 day car trip from top to bottom. Second time, as I say, I went to volunteer at kibbutz Be'eri, 4 miles from Gaza City in early December 94. Both visits were purely ornithological, nothing else - Israel is a big international bird migration corridor. 

Thing is, I remember in the gap between visits, finding out for the first time that 'the British' or 'the Rothschilds, or whatever had basically said to the Palestinians "right you lot, shove off, we're moving our people in!" and I stared at the page I was reading, thinking to myself "you can't just do that... surely" 

And yet here we are.

Excursion definition

1 - a short journey or trip, especially one engaged in as a leisure activity.
2 - a deviation from a regular pattern, path, or level of operation.

He's saying this thing will be short and easy then we'll get back on track.

I'm not so sure that's the way it'll go.

But that's what he wants you to think.

Speaking of which, have I missed something here in speed-scrolling through people's opinions? Has nobody mentioned the videos circulating of the Iranian missiles bypassing the Iron Dome and hitting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa? I guess once you click on one or two on YouTube the algorithms are sending me dozens.

I think the way that's working is that they are fragmenting over the target area.

Making it a lot harder for the Israeli Air Defense/Iron Dome/David's Sling/Iron Beam multi-layered system to intercept.

My understanding would be that it pretty much turns a ballistic missile into a massive shotgun blast of sorts.

Probably sacrifices precision for survivability of a sort.
