UFOs - Pylons And Power Blackouts.

Following on from the dam UFO thread there's also quite a number of global reports involving UFOs being witnessed over electricity pylons and power stations - also some curious correlations with power blackouts.

Please post if you know of any familiar sounding cases (or have any idea what's going on).





• American North Eastern States, 1965:

This is a pretty fascinating video in its entirety but Dr Joseph Farrell does bring up an intriguing 1965 blackout incident which affected the entire American North East (including electrical systems on cars) - people also reported 'the fillings in their mouth hurting'.

Apparently lots of UFO sightings reported around the same time with quite a bit of investigative work conducted by NICAP, Project Bluebook's Dr J. Allen Hynek, atmospherical physicist Dr. James E. McDonald etc. (links under video).

• Lancashire, 1993:

Veteran UK researcher David Cayton describes an incident below where five engineers witnessed a disc shaped object hovering over Padium power station 'sucking up electricity' (also claims of missing security footage).

• Montevideo, 1986:

Colonel Ariel Sanchez, head of the Uruguayan Air Force UFO Office describes here how a UFO evaded military jets over the Palmar Dam in 1986.

In the interview he goes into detail about how the object changed colours from yellow to orange to red as it increased its acceleration and how a power blackout of Montevideo occurred at the same time of the incident due to the overheating of a power line which was directly underneath the spot where the UFO was witnessed.

• Bariloche, 1995:

Pilots (and passengers) witness UFO in close vicinity to their passenger jet - the object was described as having an orange light on top with green lights to the side - at the same time the airport lights went out and there was a power outage across the city.

• Colusa, 1976:

After a power outage in his home (and feeling electrical tingling over his body) Bill Pecha went outside only to find a 150 foot wide UFO above his house - he then saw two similar objects 'absorbing electricity' near some pylons.

Objects were described as 'saucer shaped with a high dome, very shiny underneath with a porcelain type finish' - he also described their shape 'sort of like a lemon squeezer."

• Suffolk, 1982:

Couple in car witness orange and red object swoop down on their vehicle - as the UFO departed a blue electric light illuminated the area making 'everything look like a photo negative'.

The witnesses report 'huge electrical tendrils arcing their way up the metal skeletons of the pylons' and 'a strange foul smell almost like rotten eggs' - Oz factor, EM effects and missing time also reported.

As they approached the outskirts of Sudbury they found themselves driving beneath some high-tension cables strung between electricity pylons which march up the adjacent hillside.

Suddenly they were confronted by a strange configuration of lights as they emerged from underneath the power lines. A horse-shoe shaped set of lights was approaching them at high speed. The multi-coloured, mostly orange and red object seemed to swoop low over their car. It was at that moment when Rosalind noticed the silence and strange stillness around her. As the UFO moved across the sky a lurid flash of blue electric light illuminated everything around her. "It made everything look like a photo negative," recalled Rosalind who will never forget the way huge electrical tendrils arced their way up the metal skeletons of the pylons in that heart stopping moment. A strange, foul smell, almost like rotten eggs seemed to be coming from the object. The odour became stronger the closer it was..

The car's engine and electrics cut out simultaneously, and the disabled vehicle rolled to a stop. Philip “was glued to the steering wheel, looking straight ahead as if he had blinkers on" remembers Ros. She assumed that, like she, he was shocked and scared by the presence of the UFO. The things were now so close they could not avoid looking at it. Big, bright and round and sitting just sixty feet away from their now crippled car. “It was like a big ball of light with lots of little lights around it," Ros told an investigator later.

• Brazil, 1978.

Taken from the police UFO thread - military policemen 'terrified' by UFO directly over their vehicle, power blackout reported as object departed.

• "Suddenly I noticed two very bright lights over the car. The UFO came down over us, one hundred to one hundred and fifty meters. It was noiseless and each light was four to six meters across. They looked like an electric arc light.

I tried to get out of the car but I felt a kind of half-paralyzed sensation. I noticed that the car trembled and shook and started to rock a little, back and forth. I spoke to the soldiers and warned them that we were suffering a sort of surprise attack. We were terrified, I was scared because there was no defense against it. I felt helpless. We tried to run away but the engine wouldn't start and the radio system was completely out of order. We couldn't understand what was happening to us..

At this time the UFO moved away again and when we last saw the lights, they were very far away. We noticed that they blinked and at the same time the city's lights blinked. We noticed that the whole district was blacked out, and when the radio was working again we were informed that the power and light company had reported a power failure in the area and had no explanation for it."

• Nanesti, 2001:

Romanian villagers witness bizarre red glowing UFO during a power outage - the object was reported to be ascending, descending and performing a strange swinging motion. After the UFO departed the power came back on.

In the summer of 2001, a small Romanian village would experience a strange and sudden power blackout. What’s more, it would occur right after the sighting of an equally strange object overhead. What’s more, the power would suddenly return after several hours, a short time after the bizarre object disappeared from sight.

There could be many reasons for such a power blackout. However, when investigators could find no reason for the sudden failure, many began to consider more seriously the connections between the events on the ground and the strange object in the sky..

• North Carolina, 1968.


Couple witness 'domed' UFO with 'rod' emerging from the base - the object moved down nearby power lines 'almost touching the wires'.

In the late summer of 1968 at 2 a.m. a married couple (names confidential on file) reported seeing a dome-topped UFO with "windows" and odd-colored lights (yellow, blue and red fixed together) flying near their Lake Norman home. The UFO was about two to three car lengths wide and made a soft hum- ming sound. A "metal rod" came from the bottom edge of the UFO, as it moved down nearby power lines, almost touching the wires as it followed the power lines. The eyewitnesses ran the rest of the way home and were badly frightened by their experience.

For why the cars power goes out, sounds like it has something to do with the -ve pole or Earth of the battery. This connects to the body of the car and provides a stable reference in how the EM power of the battery flows.

If you spread some earthing rods into the ground, it is common to find various EM potential between them. Some people have made earth batteries this way. Not a lot of power, but some. In setting up the first telegraph line, this principle was used in making it work.

To get back on topic, something from these crafts is disrupting the flow of electricity. Maybe it has something to do with disrupting this background EM reference? 

What is also strange is how the car engines would also start back up automatically, no manual ignition. This is more than EM alone. It sounds more like time dilation as the car is put in a frozen time state while the interaction takes place. Lots of weird time reports around.

Ionization doesn't smell like sulfur

Had a feeling you'd pick up on that one mate and don't know what's going on with this pylon malarkey but there was a study a while back which concluded the predominant. UFO odor descriptors were 'sulfidic, pungent and foul'.

Regarding UFOs being witnessed before, during and after power blackouts also thought there was a pretty great article below by researcher Scott Corrales which describes other freaky incidents from.Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic etc.

Would say the full article is well worth a read for anybody interested in this subject (and I can't imagine why folks wouldn't be).

Dim All The Lights: UFOs and Blackouts

In mid-March 1992, residents of the Puerto Rican city of Trujillo Alto were roused from their sleep by an unearthly noise and a spectacular display of blue light. The light changed to other colors of the spectrum in rapid succession as two powerful searchlights scanned the darkened surface from above. Hundreds, if not thousands, of residents were able to see a massive UFO hovering directly over a local power substation. The airborne goliath began drawing electricity from the substation in a stunning visual display that filled onlookers with awe.

Equally awed were the technicians from the local power utility, who reported early the next day to repair the burned out substation: according to estimates, the UFO had caused well over a $250,000 in damages that could not be readily explained, such as the molten transformer terminals and the inoperative automatic breakers which should have prevented such a tremendous loss of current.

Certainly appreciate the speculation mate - loads of car stop cases involved in this flap and sounds bonkers but there are also reports on that thread of wristwatches refusing to work on witnesses afterwards.

There's an older paper here on 'UFO Interference With Vehicles And Self Starting Engines' although reckon you may be onto something with time dilation (could be nothing but the CIA did seem pretty desperate to enlist John Wheeler).

Anyway thought there were some truly interesting incidents discussed in this interview and in one case a 'disc with small windows' caused a pilot's instrument panel to go haywire - apparently there was a power outage reported at same time and area.
