Today I have run into an article (Russian source) claiming CIA has released some material regarding UFO incident dated back to 1993 in Siberia, if I am not mistaken.

"..UFO shut down by military. Beings exited from the soft landed craft..." . What happen next please read CIA report siting Russian news paper.

This might be propaganda more than anything, but weirdness never the less.
Declassified Cold War-era CIA files detail Soviet clash with aliens who witnesses say turned soldiers to stone

A declassified Cold War-era file from the CIA has gone viral over its coverage of a supposed clash between Soviet soldiers and a UFO, whose passengers reportedly turned the troops to stone before blasting off.
 
Following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the CIA acquired a 250-page KGB report recounting the events that transpired after a platoon fired at a flying saucer over Ukraine.
 
The report included eyewitness accounts and pictures of the aftermath, which one American agent described as “a horrific picture of revenge on the part of extraterrestrial creatures, a picture that makes one’s blood freeze.”

Could reports like this be why some are so interested in keeping any details about UFO/UAPs out of the hands of the US Government and Public. 

The biggest part of this story that smells like propaganda is this quote,

“In a few seconds, the spheres grew much bigger and exploded by flaring up with an extremely bright light. At that very instant, 23 soldiers who had watched the phenomenon turned into… stone poles,” the report states.
 
“Only two soldiers who stood in the shade and were less exposed to the luminous explosion survived,” it added.
The KGB allegedly took custody of the “petrified soldiers” and the ruined spacecraft, which were transported to a secret base near Moscow.

If the weapon was so dangerous why would the Soviet take it near Moscow instead of one of the bases in Siberia? The story doesn't add up, but it does seem as if the CIA has taken the story as being true. If so then idiocy is the real reason why disclosure isn't happening.

I would try not to rush with 'weapon' conclusion after giving it more attention.
What if...given the story is true..what if those solders were 'replaced'...real people are taken and fake limestone statues left behind.
May be those solders right now are on another planet or dimension, or here on Earth under altered identity to carry out their new mission? I am just fantasizing of possibilities. Asking myself, why to kill them? They were no harm directly.

Anyway, I am re reading some ufo cases these days drawing parallels to what came known to me over the last decade and looking at it from my today's life experience.

I’m guessing s-64 or similar, but not sure the lights on the rear would match this, so maybe something similar?

Probably a helicopter, the lights are the right color and just the fact that the lights show are suspect. Music could also be hiding the sound. I recorded a drone a couple of weeks ago, the lights are the wrong colors and the colors doesn't show on the video, the video just shows white lights. What you record and see doesn't look the same. Who knows how many kinds UFO's are out there. Not even bothering posting the video because it's some lights not making a sound and badly recorded like so many others out there.

I doubt anything that claims some military shot down a UFO. I would have a easier time believing Christopher Columbus shoots down F35 with cannon.

I also doubt and agree with you.
Although, just for amusement...there are situations with ufo when they are most vulnerable. If we assume ufos are nuts and bolts hardware, those situations imply when ufo is at rest landed on the surface or on slow descent or take off.

On the picture the drone looks nothing like a helicopter...but great try.

there is one peculiar detail when it comes to UFOs. Most of the time witnesses report lights. those lights have two main light sources and those light sources differ in colors. Green and red for the most part.

One cases from 1975, the witness even reported one of the lights begun to flash..later in his recollection called them a 'strobe'. this make a note to my questions as to why nj/ny drones have flashing lights like strobes if they are aliens.

Going back to the light colors...based on what witnesses say, those lights are no lights as of the lamp or projector is emitting. it could be part of functioning drive. some energy entering the craft from outside source above, for example, like a beam, on one side and leaving on the opposite side of the craft. exit point color is red. when boost is needed, the green might turn white or yellow.
