You won’t be paying Iran a ransom for safe travel either.

There is no safe travel through the straits right now.

He's against an escalation that could destabilise the region even further.
And spike U.K energy prices even more.
If you stayed here, you may comprehend just how much of an issue that is right now.
And a U.S blockade isn't neutral policing.
It's an act of force and aggression that risks retaliation from Iran.
Also, "no tolls" isn't the real issue, control is...
The Strait of Hormuz stays open largely because multiple powers avoid triggering conflict, not because one power enforces it.
And the UK isn't freeloading.
It's avoiding being dragged into another expensive, high-risk confrontation.
You don't want or require our help.
If in doubt, see the horrible things your POTUS says about our nation and armed forces.
I want to know how much an issue it is right now, tell us. What is your utility payments like? Are you experiencing some kind of energy crisis?

It's a major cost-of-living issue.
And some poor sods are forced to choose between keeping the lights and heating on, or being able to purchase food.
And its a problem for millions of households that fall into the category.
Literally, people in low-paid employment are being forced to use the likes of food banks to survive.
It was worse around 2022, but still a serious concern.
There is a cap now, but it's more like a speed limit on prices, not a ceiling on what you pay.

A couple of Navy destroyers just crossed the whole thing yesterday.
The strait isn’t really closed.
The problem is the insurance companies aren't writing policies to cover transit.
There's not much the Navy can do about it short of sending Marines up the Thames to take over Lloyd's headquarters.
Wait a minute...

That’s what Trump is trying to accomplish.
Apparently I’m in cult now, someone here told me so.

Navy destroyers. LoL
There is speculation that they turned back around.
But pray tell, how much crude oil do Navy destroyers ferry around the globe?
So if Trump could just give all the tankers, a destroyer escort im sure everything will be tickety-boo in the Strait.

I think we can clearly all see what Trump's accomplished...

Our destroyers had zero issues cruising through there yesterday.
The Iranians told a different story….
US destroyer turns back from Hormuz Strait after warning, Iranian media reports
https://news.cgtn.com/news/2026-04-11/ne...4la/p.html
Why are the Iranians lying about it?
Because they don’t want the world to know it’s not really closed.
