Not a moving speech like Reagan.
But also not the mess that has been suggested.
It was just a speech.
Got to the points he wanted to make.
As to 'low key'.   Yes.   
But if he was animated people would complain that 
he was hopped up on war etc etc etc ... 
Either way, complaints would roll in.

Bottom line.   Glad I didn't bother staying up to watch.
Glad I'm not watching the snippets on tv with the 
biased one way or another commentaries either.

My main contention being Trump said the war is "almost finished."

But also that fighting will continue for 2 or 3 more weeks.

Where have we heard that 2-week line before?

He claims Iran is "basically defeated" while also planning more strikes.

And yet Iran's government still exists.

Then there is the fact that he barely addressed the rising fuel prices and global instability that he helped create.

He didn't explain how this all actually ends or what success looks like.

Because the fact is he's not got a clue...

He spoke like it's a success story and yet look at oil prices and the markets?

Not good, not good at all...

Where does terrorism rank on top threats to US citizens over the last 10, 20, 50, 100 years?

Based on our prioritization of it, I’d be led to believe I’m more likely to die from terrorists than hitting a deer with my car, choking on food, falling in the shower, which all have more deaths. 

Maybe if we want to reduce the threat of terrorism, we should stop mowing the lawn every ten years in the Middle East.

I'm not hanging on every word that these people say.
It all changes hour to hour.   And there are contradictions.
I say that about the leadership of USA, Iran, and everyone else.

Just finish what was started and get on with life.
And make plans to pull out of NATO.   
No point in having our people and toys over there if we can't use them.

Crazy to me people will hold grudges over this type of stuff but completely dismiss other things.

The Steele Dossier was funded by the GOP and then handed off to Clinton for election OpPo research. 

Do you remember the Wikileaks that came out that we were spying on our European allies and leaders? Or how about our social media companies and politicians favoring politicians in elections there?

To me it just looks petty to act as if we’re so utterly wronged by allies when we do the same things to them. The relationship isn’t perfect, most on life rarely are even with family and loved ones.

But acting as if they are absolute leeches and take more than Middle Eastern countries is silly and has been disproven by simple math in this very thread.

Europe has accounted for over 50% of foreign investment into the states over the last ten years. They’ve accounted for 20%~ of war and aid spending in the last 50 years where as the Middle East accounted for 50% of war and aid over the last 50 years.

the top five aid recipients ever have 3 in the Middle East and 0 in Europe.

All of that is adjusted for inflation.

We have to watch everyone because no one is truly on our side, also the exchange of intel went both ways as neither country is supposed to spy on their own citizens but we can for you, you can for us. 

It doesn't matter who funded it your guy made it up and pushed it out, he could have gone public with the request and do the right thing but he cashed his check and did the crime. For the record the members of the GOP who did fund it should also be tried and convicted but that is a separate battle. Which points to exactly why we need to stop f-ing around with the rest of the world and get our house straight.

Well sorry if you feel like a leech, I try to keep GB out of it as they do more then most planet as well but i'm sure we can both find our countries many faults fairly equally. 

Most of Europe wasn't paying shit for NATO that's a huge bill we have been fronting for a long time and it's existence did keep you relatively safe I would bet with out us around to fund it you guys would be in a world a shit right now but hey as long as you don't have to lift a finger when some crazy government kills 45k of it's own people so you get cheap gas right, who needs NATO when you can just let it happen.
