Four dollar per gallon gas is the price point where the general public starts switching their purchases from ICE vehicles to EVs. Average price of gas in the US just went over $4 per gallon today, after only one month of his Special Military Operation (SMO). I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to $8 per gallon by the end of the year. Inquires and sales of used EVs have already increased by about 25% or so as a response to the SMO. Also, his SMO has decreased the world's supply of Liquified Natural Gas by about 20%, so utilities would have to be absolute idiots to try to increase electricity generation in the near future with anything other than solar/wind/battery storage since it is already the cheapest and fastest way to increase generation capacity. However, it is too bad that he has spent the last year trying to kill off the EV/renewable energy movement while simultaneously increasing the average fuel consumption of US ICE vehicles since that is simply going to make the US auto industry less competitive in the international market and give China and Europe an economic advantage. I do feel sorry for Ford and GM for having to sustain billion-dollar losses while trying to keep up with Trump's erratic decision making.

So now we are going home in 2-3 weeks. And whereas Iran “wants very badly” to
make a deal, now it’s “they don’t have to”. Trump is screwed either way; tuck tail and bring the fleet and troops home, look like a puss, but he won’t have to hear it from foreign nationals and executives as they’re spooked about domestic markets and energy supplies. Stay, and we risk getting into a quagmire that we can’t “win” for years and save face. Will Trump improve the wealth of himself and kin while screwing average Americans? Will you pay $12 at the pump while trying to feed your snotty offspring? How will he tell Bibi “you’re on your own”? The High Drama continues as the world watches with anticipation as America sticks to its safely guarded Plan and is about to slip into the seemly fray of “Operation Diddy Party in the ME III: the Oily Deluge….. Stay tuned kids, you won’t wanna miss this. Also that popcorn and beer is $45 now.
Control ?
My generation thrives when there's It's a different mindset; fatalistic, perhaps, hell, many of us are amazed we made it this far. We've lived under the spectre of nuclear annihilation since the 60s, when our government told us to duck and cover under our school desks in case the commies went MAD and shot nukes at the US. LOL, it wasnt if either many thought we had less than 1000 days till the next war, the first with an actual nuclear exchange. Chances were slim that it would be a 1-for-1 exchange ....we were spoon-fed fear of MAD, there was going to be a nuclear exchange, and the only hope was that our leaders would come to thier senses and stop before the bombers arrived, but now it's sub launched missiles from off the Atlantic coast aimed at DC and New York, Norfolk, Phialdelphia, Camp David. etc. minutes at the most to use your first wave or they get destroyed in thier silos Life experiences... What's the chance that nuclear-equipped Iran would have used a nuke if they had it this month? 70-90% sounds about right

So...posting about actual, real world consequences of a closed Strait and multiple blown up oil refineries is...'end of the world, fatalistic, fear mongering, 'panican', doom porn'
But positing about the potential of Iran getting a nuke and actually using it...isn't the same, damn thing ?

Well for sure the Cold War must’ve been harrowing and traumatic. Certainly as a kid. But leave it to the only nation that’s used one in war to scare the shit outta the children.
As for Iran getting/using one, we may never (hopefully) know. Do I doubt they would. I’m not entirely sure. MAD being a thing and all. Now do I think the U.S. would one against Iran. I fucking hope not. But I’ve been wrong before. On the plus side I’ll get to spend more time with my pets as I’ll immediately quit my job and hit BevMo hopefully just before for the horizon gets too bright on the West Coast. And as much I loathe war, I’ll be stoked for all those that believe in the afterlife, especially around Easter. So there’s that too.
