Spain has been a thorn since Tudor times, if not earlier..... never trust a Spaniard..... Spanish Inquisition should tell you all you need to know about their views on Jews just for starters followed by just about everyone else who wasn't catholic

I did, but I think Trump has memory issues

This war is cramping their economic growth, so they just may end up becoming the intervening factor that may be able to mediate so as to stop this war.
China as a world peace maker.
Strange times indeed.
As to cramping economic growth, if they keep it up, we are apt to land in a world recession...

Sorry to hear about your friend, her daughters and cousins close call. I wish them well.

Spain may be an occasional 'thorn' but they've had pretty much same world view for many years now concerning global conflict.

I do think what we could have done with the century and these wars serve nobody but the warmongers.

It's carte blanche to follow in the footsteps of the likes of their Russian and American cousins, given the piss poor example set, don't you think?
I mean, I'm not making any sort of excuse for future incursions or invasions that China may happen to launch or become embroiled.
But what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
And that is the way they are apt to frame it...

China's main tactic in international affairs is trade. They work hard and cheep. Doing their own thing in the space race, further ahead on the Moon. Got a big population, 3-4x America. Gives them a lot more graduates pushing science in all kinds of directions.
At the Olympics, it has generally been America, Russia and China in the top 3. With China's trade advantage and population, they have been set for a while to pick up the pieces as the USD declines. They are patient, if it takes 2 years or 20 years, they know their day will come eventually. They do have a reputation of being hostile with conflicts on their boarders, otherwise not hearing much conflict globally. War is more of a research and development opportunity.
With the way the international money market is, lot of different competing currencies and assets out there. Going to be a bad day for Earth if they all disappear overnight.

100% Spain is tainted for a number of historical reasons... besides Uncle Sam catches stink for its history too.
