Iran has always been the "jewel in the crown" as per Wesley Clarke's presentation after 9/11.
There's more to this in my view than just Iran and more about freeing up the Straits for world trade and putting pressure financially on Chiiiiina.... as per Venezuela.
China is a far bigger threat to world economics and peace than Russia is. Chiiiiina is the boogeyman.

Well, it's full moon on Thursday, just as it was when they yoyked Maduro.
We have Easter weekend coming up, that is worrying me more with localised terror attacks from sleeper cells.... the Iranian's have been too quiet on that front given US/Israel launched their attack during Eid. Time for payback..... but I sincerely hope not.

One of my best friends was at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena during the bombings, with two kids in tow.

Luckily, they were all ok.

My little cousin was standing outside Glasgow airport when the 2007 attack happened.

China is the boogeyman only in their success at surpassing USA in world economic hegemony in some areas.

This war is cramping their economic growth, so they just may end up becoming the intervening factor that may be able to mediate so as to stop this war.
