Trump says he bombed Iran
I was thinking about the notion (a weak one) that their is some "legality" issue with the US's posture and actions regarding Iranian threats, direct, and indirect actions.)

The UN considers all "non-UN approved" combat actions "illegal."

That - in and of itself - should demonstrate what the UN is all about.

There a a world of 'illegal' things that are so because the "UN" declared them so.

War ... THE PUBLIC VERSION... is about making something "right" or "eliminating the source of people's fear and angst... The "political" version is "we'll teach those bastards a lesson they'll not soon forget!"  The religious version is an unthinking lemming dive into killing the "others who are evil."

There is nothing about "War" is good, not the perception that leads there, the ridiculous contortions of truth, the incomprehensibly weak notion that the 16-year old living down the street should have to have his face blown off thousands of miles away... to make a point.

All war by definition will manifest as illegal... whether it stays that way is a matter of 'afterwards.'

There is an old phrase...

"Sue for peace."

But we are not there yet...
everyone (even the bystander armchair quarterbacks) are still enjoying the 'entertainment.'

billions in profit... three newspaper articles could explain it all...
ten hours of actual research would answer most every question...

This "illegality" seems an incongruous claim...

The directed violence of this regime "wasn't" illegal?

I say from now on all terrorism be factually reported and described BY the "global apparatus" instead of "political" ones...  this half-assed approach to excusing 5 decades of targeted violence has to stop.
We fight back and... suddenly we're the "big bad bully?"

Sometimes we forget when and where "we" have seen this whole pattern before... but now that the "UN" has spoken... now it's different...  <ahem>

The UN is the vatican of armchair quarterbacks... backed by the Mega-businesses of the world... they pretend the 'represent' all people.... they NEVER have...

their 'declarations' of illegality are basely hypocritical.

Fortunately, saner heads exist in the world than the globalist work-force...

Other nations which decry the illegality are hinging their "correctness" on the UN narrative... big error inbound.

The UN is poised to collapse upon itself.   Eventually their intense participation within the "special world" we have begun glimpsing recently will become clearer and more distinct...

The UN 'manpower" situation will change radically - very soon.  If it doesn't, it will fail... it has already begun.

The UN was never meant to be populated by private interests... now that is ALL it is.

Oil... the UN is concerned about OIL and they won't admit it.

The “orange man bad” shtick is so yesterday and whenever it’s used a room temp IQ always comes to mind.   But….I digress, not going to stoop to your level with tit for tat drivel, happy Trump hating to ya…."

There you go belittling and berating someone.

You don't see the irony?  Or the hypocrisy?

Any on topic comment on the legality or justification for your War?

"The large scale Israeli invasion of Lebanon has begun. , This invasion is significantly larger in terms of manpower and organization than the 2006 Lebanon War. It is the largest since 1982. Here is what we know so far:

1) Divisions 162 and 98 are expected to join the fighting, on top of divisions 36, 91, and 146 already operating across the border. Five divisions means this is a serious war.

2) The IDF is expected to advance through three main corridors: the Western Sector (Ras al-Naqoura), the Middle Sector (Aita ech Chaab), and the Eastern Sector (Khiyam).

3) The army's stated objective is to prevent Hezbollah from being able to fire anti-tank missiles and rockets into Israeli territory. It appears more likely the goal is to permanently secure the area south of the Litani or even the Zahrani rivers.

4) The IDF has expanded evacuation orders to Lebanese residents south of the Zahrani River, roughly 40 km from the Israeli border. About 13% of Lebanon's territory is now under IDF evacuation orders.

5) There is an element of coercive diplomacy involved. Israeli officials have indicated that Israel and Lebanon may hold direct talks in the coming days. The Lebanese state has expressed a willingness to negotiate to end the war, even as Hezbollah continues its strikes.

6) Israel is applying the Daheyia Doctrine, which uses overwhelming, disproportionate force against civilian infrastructure in areas controlled by Hezbollah to deter future attacks. However, they plan to use this increasingly against Lebanese infrastructure to coerce Lebanon into a deal.

There is no clear exit strategy for this war. While in theory Israel is trying to coerce Lebanon into disarming Hezbollah, it is unlikely that can happen.

Last time Israel sent this many troops in, they remained trapped there for 25 years."

It is the first non-Iranian oil tanker to do so today without any incident, and it is on its way to Pakistan."

The Strait is not closed, it is only closed to Israel and US and their allies. All other countries have to do is to ask for permission to pass.

We are discussing American legal terms.
This military operation has not been declared a war.
It is a military operation.

Google AI - The United States last formally declared war during World War II on June 5, 1942, when Congress authorized war against Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania. While the U.S. has engaged in numerous conflicts since 1942—including Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq—these were authorized by resolutions rather than formal declarations

It can't be declared a war until Congress votes on such a thing.  ANd they don't have to be notified until 60 days into the action.
So quick question. And a bit of reflection.

How many of you were for bombing Iran or regime change before Israel co-opted and coerced Trump.

Because from what I recall, we bombed their nuclear facilities/capabilities last year.

On top of that, Trump declared “no new wars” and he was gonna fix the U.S. economy.

So if you’re cheerleading for this just now, why the change of heart?

Problem being i think they may have to pay for passage via Chinese Yuan.

Trump named it an 'excursion'...tells us a lot about his 'tip toeing through the tulips' fantasies.

"BRICS Bridge and Cross-Border Payments

The BRICS Bridge is a blockchain-based payment system designed to connect central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) of member nations, enabling direct settlements without relying on SWIFT or correspondent banks.  It is a successor to earlier initiatives like mBridge and BRICS PAY, aiming for real-time, secure, and compliant cross-border transactions.  This system allows members to settle trade and investment flows in their national currencies, enhancing financial sovereignty."
