I can guarantee you without a doubt that Kharg was calculated into their strategy before this ever started.  

They knew 90% of Iran’s oil went through the island.  It would be ignorant to think they didn’t have a strategic plan of action in their deck of what to do with it, they didn’t just stumble across it.   They’re not as stupid as you’re trying to make them out to be.  This isn’t TPTB first rodeo, they have think tanks that do nothing but strategize and play war games 24/7.  

It’s huuuuuge leverage for the US and breaking them economically is the perfect bargaining chip.  Leave the Strait open and surrender or we’ll make sure you’re economically bankrupt overnight.
