I was in my junior year in high school when the shah was deposed.
My first Middle East experience was when half my class became Iranian.
Not doubting your story but those who escaped when the Shah was deposed and most of the younger generation in Iran perfer the term Persian and see Iranian as an insult such is the hatred of the regime.
It's going to be a looooong war over the next couple of decades that'll need boots on the ground - the longer it goes on the higher risk of Persians inside Iran fighting against ocupying forces as when bombs fall it's human nature to forget about politics and focus on survival.
Women in Iran are still strongly supporting the war and claiming they'd rather die via bombs than via the regime but men interviewed seem to be slipping/slipped into survival mode and want the bombing to stop and regime kept in place going off vox pops in Tehran.

The bigest mistake in all this, and a "putting the cart before the horse" was Trump saying "help is on the way"..... and then did nothing.
So, around 40,000 Persians rose up and were slaughtered by the Iranian regime.
Any remaining Persians will be keeping their heads down, as they are.
Trump and Pahlavi lost 40,000 people, who would still be alive to bring about the regime change against the IRGC, if he'd acted on his words. He should have mobilised before he said "help is on its way".
The 40,000 deaths are on both their heads.

There's that plus the IRGC used the warnings to set up roadblocks to quell any dissent, protests or opposition forces - I've seen reports/quotes from Trump that the perople Trump wanted to lead Iran have been killed by IRGC (unclear if part of the protestor killings or a targetted killing once US-Israeli strikes hit.
Another potential screw up is the US/CIA messing up their aim to arm the Kurds and support them in overthrowing the regime. The Kurds have voted to remain neutral for now citing Trumps objectives being so unclear and regime change no longer being mentioned when the US does state its objectives. https://www.axios.com/2026/03/07/iran-ku...cia-mossad Trump abandonned the Kurds in Syria by evacuating US troops without notifying allies and allowing Turkish forces to carry out summary executions and release 10,000s of ISIS fighters held in prison there.
They're still waiting for arms and support after they launched their limited ground invasion on Iran last week and have been given no air defences or support from the West while Iran is launching drone strikes on Kurds and gradually wiping out opposition parties.
EDIT: Kurds called off their invasion of Iran despite news reports last week saying they had launched the offensive as US is changing their mind on whether they support Kurds or not by the hour https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c79505804lpo

How much do you really know about those 40 000 dead? Looks to have been another color revolution like in Syria, Libya and others. Lot of innocent civilians, police stations and other places hit before the national guard stepped in and round up the trouble makers.
Since that attempt at a revolution failed, Trump did finally bring some backup with its air campaign. Does not look like it is doing much better, perhaps a higher score on the number of civilians affected.

So how do Trumpers feel about this Trump fundraiser used dignified transfer image and promised private intelligence briefings
Quote:
A fundraising email from the political coalition of President Donald Trump contains a provocative proposal: to use imagery from Saturday’s dignified transfer ceremony in honor of six fallen American soldiers and to promise access to “private national security briefings.”
The letter sent by Never Surrender, Inc., promotes the so-called “Membership in National Security Briefings” and urges recipients to “take their seat” through several donation links, describing it as an exclusive group that receives updates on national security threats

Didn't Trump say he's claimed victory?

....and ?
Both sides have PACs that do fund raisers all the time and use photos from public appearances.
As far as "National Security Briefings" the FBI and DHS issue those to the public quite often. It's not like they are giving out classified information.
Lastly...Ukrainian news source huh ?
Interesting...very interesting.

He has won in getting another regional conflict started. With a lot of secrecy around just what the actual aims of this conflict is, looks to get America out of the Middle East and help stop Israel in its genocidal ways. He is winning there too.
